I love the new university (especially the contemporary Italian literature course because it gives me the opportunity to study those authors who lived after the First World War and I hadn't the opportunity to study of during the the high school) but the bad thing is that I have to read 6 books within December, 4 of Italian literature and 2 of Chinese letterature and I hate them... I think I will slowly die... drowned by books.

The first was all about objectivism and why it's bad in excess; But Infinite jumped to the other side of that with Columbia, a place where the citizens question nothing, rise above nothing, believe anything that is told to them, and accept that 50% of all individual profit is taken by Comstock. Comstock is their Jesus and they baptise people in his name. They never ask to see "The Lamb" and people that go against the flow are punished in things like the raffle. Even the Vox completely lacks any objectivist ideas, acting as a collective, each man blindly following that which was set in motion by a woman exactly like Comstock. 

I understand now why Columbia didn't feel like Ryan's Rapture, and that's because it wasn't built in Comstock's image, because Comstock was not an objectivisit. Ryan was; He built Rapture as a monument to himself and a statement to the world, "Look what I can do". It was a testament to his ego, and he sought to use Rapture as an extension of himself, to house others with the same philosophy, and to praise the god that he saw as mankind. Columbia was an experiment, and it was chiefly created by the Luteces. Comstock felt like an intruder, using the city as a setting for "heaven", ridden with heavy jingoism, in it for personal gain, not to proclaim the greatness of man. 

Ryan was not afraid to say that he built Rapture as a monument to himself and to man. Comstock was afraid to admit anything. 

I've seen people try to say Infinite was about religious fanaticism, but they couldn't be more wrong. If Infinite was about religious fanaticism, then so was the first Bioshock. In Infinite, it was simply more obvious, because it was closer to what the average person would call religious. But in Bioshock, man was God and the people of Rapture worshiped man, just as vehemently as the people of Columbia worshiped Comstock. And I've also seen people try to argue that Rapture is the "right-wing nightmare" and Columbia is the "left-wing nightmare", and that's also wrong. Neither game deals with the right or left wing, because they deal with philosophies that exist in both. 

I just really appreciate that Infinite was able to be on the opposite side of the coin than the previous two games and still prove just as brilliant with the political undertones.
