Like okay he does have some insecurities ( being afraid hes like his dad, letting the “dumb gilmore” comments/richard and emily get to him sometimes) but overall, he’s pretty comfortable with who he is ( which is why he came out so early btw) he does as good as he can in school but doesn’t stress about it because honestly it’s just not that important to him and he’s just like “if it’s not something that will make me happy ( going to an Ivy League. straight As) then why would I kill myself for it?” and shrugs off people that try to tell him he’ll regret it ( he doesn’t) like not putting my worth in grades and shaking off what other people think makes my life good are things that take some of us a long time to learn so I absolutely love that from the gecko ( and influenced by growing up with Lane, Lindsey, and Rory and going “yeah not me man” ) he’s like “im gonna get good enough grades to play sports, work some blue collared job until i figure out what “I” want after graduation and go from there because thats what I want. And like...its my life yknow. I’m the one livin it.”

Basic Kitsune Facts
Kitsunes have more than one form. Their Fox form, which looks by all accounts to be a normal fox. Their ‘Yoko’ fox form which is larger and presents all their tails. Their semi humanoid which retains fox features such as their tail, ears, sometimes even claws and fangs. And finally their ‘human’ form, which they can only take fully through the use of their Kitsune Magic.
Kitsunes can have multiple tails, anywhere from 1-9 tails. To kitsunes, the number of tails they have show their prestige, skill, age and rank. They can gain tails through their actions. They also can gain a tail every 100 years. Conversely they can lose tails through their actions.
A Kitsune may hide the amount of tails it has through illusion, but they may NEVER do the opposite of presenting more tails than they actually have. To do so invites much misfortune on the Kitsune.
Kitsunes are incredibly hard to kill, in fact are functionally immortal. Especially those with multiple tails, where they can actually trade a tail in order to keep themselves from dying.
Kitsunes are usually born by the mating of two Kitsunes. A mixed mating of a Kitsune and a mortal, however, will always yield a Kitsune child.
Kitsune are emotional and very vengeful. Kitsune will lose their temper at the slightest provocation. Once someone has earned a kitsune's enmity, the kitsune will begin enacting revenge that can become quite extreme. On the other hand, those who have earned a kitsune's trust and loyalty will see a friendship that can last through many trials.
Kitsune are also a victim of their own feelings. A kitsune's emotions can cause them harm, or distract them. The Sin of Regret can even kill a kitsune outright.
Freedom is very important to the kitsune. They do not accept being forced into something they do not wish, and do not like being bound or trapped. Doing so weakens the kitsune, and is frowned upon by other kitsune. A trapped kitsune can be driven to madness or even death if they cannot free themselves.
Kitsune have to keep their promises, and especially follow their word of honor. They become self-destructive if they break a promise, and when someone else breaks a promise, they become deadly enemies.
If a fox has absorbed enough magic and has a natural disposition for it there is a chance that they one day become a Kitsune. This is very rare however.
Basic Kitsune powers:
Foxfire: (kitsune-bi) Can be summoned and manipulated at will. The flames can become a weapon and they can also create small balls of fire, and use these as lights, thrown weapons, or as toys.
Shape Shifting: This is only from human form to fox form and vice versa.
Illusion: To a kitsune, their illusions are reality. What they make, for them, and for others, is as real as anything found or crafted in nature. Anything that a kitsune builds or transforms, becomes what the kitsune desired. A kitsune can make people, animals, and objects, which can't be distinguished from the real thing. The more kitsune team up to make things, the more can be made. A handful of kitsune can build a city if they desired.
Barrier creation: Either can be used to contain and trap something or protect the Kitsune from attack.
Skilled Kitsune Powers- Generally learned after years of practice and great magic needed, this also includes greater proficiency in above.
Fire Sentinels: A creation of kitsune flames in the form of their choosing, traditionally foxes. They can be autonomous and given short tasks or missions to perform on their own. Or they can be controlled by the kitsune directly as an extension of themselves typically as attacks.
Fox Eye: Spying technique, a kitsune can transfer half their sight with something or someone of their choice. Traditionally this is done more-so with flame sentinels as they have greater control over what is seen, but at the expense of more magic used. Can also be used to share sight with wild foxes with a similar effect. They can also do the same with another individual but this poses greater risks for both the kitsune and the person which they are sharing their sight, especially if it is done unwillingly or without permission.
Ward creation: Stronger more permanent barriers. Can be made to protect a space with various techniques.
Passive techniques include: Misdirection forcing the person to travel in circles until they give up then they are able to leave. Mind haze and confusion where the traveler forgets why they were traveling in that direction causing them to give up and leave. Intimidation creating a overwhelming sense of foreboding and dread. Shield Barrier a permanent and impenetrable shield.
Aggressive Techniques include: Mind destruction an extreme version of Mind Haze and Confusion technique, makes the victim hallucinate and be driven mad with terror or by simply being unable to trust their own minds. Agony bolts attempts to cross the threshold will result in agonizing pain mentally. Hellfire trespassers are instantly incinerated by Hellfire flames.
Illusion master: Greater powers include bending time and space, drive people mad, or take fantastic shapes such as a tree of incredible height or a second moon in the sky.
Kitsune Seduction: A form of mind control, the kitsune ability of 'seduction' is one of the most commonly mentioned skills in legends. By using their tail or tails in a swaying manner, or by meeting the gaze of a target, the kitsune is capable of taking over their mind. Consider this a variety of hypnosis. While under the control of the kitsune, the victim sees, thinks, and lives in a world designed by the kitsune, all inside the target's mind. The target is controlled until someone breaks the magic the kitsune's using. This mind control is purely by magic, mind you, and can be broken by certain magics, or wards.
Kitsune also have a heightened sense of smell, hearing, and vision.
Kit never realized how true much of these facts were on herself until her recent adventures. Of course, kinda of hard when a lot of these are triggered by others and you live alone on a mountain....
