Kosaku, the sweetest boy 🥹💖
[Headcanon | Booze]
To put it simple when it comes to drinking booze, Kohaku is a very very lightweight. A good example is with sake, he cannot go past three cups (and because a part of Shinto Wedding ceremonies include drinking cups of sake, that part alone had Kohaku sweating because he knew of his limit).
If Kohaku exceeds his limits, then get ready to look after a toodler because that is essentially to what Kohaku’s behavior changes if he drinks far too much. He will go around pulling pranks on others, mess around with them, do stuff that he is told not to do, is very stubborn, pouts, etc.
While his sister Sango is an emotional drunk, Kohaku is a goofy drunk.
Not need to say, however, that the following day he just wants to shrink and hide from everyone out of embarrassment.
WHAT TYPE OF LONELINESS ARE YOU?
walking at the back of a group when the pavement is too narrow
you tend to end up drifting to the side or relegated to the back when there isn't enough space and oh it hurts, doesn't it? feeling like an observer or an outsider - feeling guilty for not appreciating that you have this, at least. if you haven't already, soon you will meet people with whom u can be more yourself than ever before. i love you

angsty avatar the last airbender quote.
I don`t think boomerang is coming back
You give so much love, but it never seems to be enough. You give advice but your friends are still sad. You try to pick them up, but everything is so heavy. And yet you are always the one who is giving more. You are the one who is standing at a bus stop in the rain, you are the one available at 3 a.m. But it gets so cold and you get so tired, and inside you don`t know if there won`t be a day where you just will be empty because you used up all that you can give.
And that when that day comes, people will leave, because why should they stay when you have nothing left to offer? Well, they should and they will because they care for you. Of course they value and appreciate the love you give, and how they can rely on you. But they do love you in return, and that first and foremost for being you.
You do not have to solve all their problems in order to be a good friend. That is nothing anyone could or should expect, because it simply is impossible.
And your friends do know that, too. And those who matter will always come back.

[Headcanon] | Fathers & Sons
Kohaku never intended to but deep down he has a small resentment towards his father. There are times he finds himself thinking about it, how maybe he wouldn’t have been so insecure about his abilities had his father shown pride and praised him in his achievements -no matter how small- in person instead of praising him behind his back.
That scene with Kohaku failing to grab his weapon properly after wielding it and then being called weakling has happened more than once. It contributed to Kohaku’s already low self-esteem.
Despite all this, after Kohaku stepped up as leader of the new Demon Slayers he wondered -and still does from time to time- if his father is proud of what he became. He still wants, more than anything, to reunite with his father once his life comes to an end.
Because of this, after taking in Hisui as a Demon Slayers Kohaku makes sure that he doesn’t hold back the praises towards his nephew but knows how to keep it level headed, he wants Hisui to know when he is improving but also doesn’t want him to get his heads in the clouds and believe he can do anything alone.
The same goes for when he has his own children, make them know they are loved.
Because he never got to reconcile with his father or even to bond enough with him, Kohaku doesn’t like to see Hisui’s anger towards Miroku especially when he knows it’s for such a silly reason. This is why Kohaku didn’t hold back or try to shield Hisui in this mission by sending him to protect his own father. He wanted, and hoped, it would clear up all the misunderstandings Hisui and Miroku had with one another.
He also didn’t want Hisui to feel the same regret he feels about his own father, if anything were to happen to Miroku and Hisui never got to make up with him.

100 Random Character Development Questions
014. Detail one secret shame your character feels.
Kohaku feels shame in not remembering how his mother was, both physically and personality; a part of him knows that it is almost impossible to remember her as she passed away when he was really young but hearing the people of the Taijiya village saying how much he looks like her, how much he acts like her has Kohaku feel shame for not being able to recall a single memory of her.
He wishes he could remember her so that he could admit he misses her. But how to miss someone you can’t recall? The memory of his mother is the single memory that was not tainted, touched and erased by Naraku. But it is also the memory he will never remember.
035. What is the most important rule your character lives by?
Never judge a book by its cover.
After his several experiences as Naraku’s puppet and even after having fled from his control and recovered his memories, Kohaku now lives by this rule. To him not every demon is synonym of evil doing and not every human is synonym of being innocent.
This is part of the reason he stopped Hisui from attacking Moroha after she stated she had nothing to do with the attacks at the villages. He wanted to hear her out, come to the conclusions by himself instead of the opinions of others.
058. What is your character’s idea of a perfect day?
Kohaku is a simple person and therefore likes simple things.
In the normal IY world setup, his idea of a perfect day would be a stroll by the river, catch fish and eat it by the stream, appreciate the view and the surroundings and complete it with a visit to the field of white lilies where he would pick up some for the people dear to him.
In modern AUs, Kohaku would prefer calm places like a coffee/tea or even a natural park where he could eventually sit down and read a book.
094. Name three things most would not expect your character to be able to know.
Tales & Myths | Although he lives in a world surrounded by demons and other kinds of creatures, not many expect a young boy (especially if he is not wearing his Demon Slayer outfit) to know about all kinds of myths and tales surrounding said creatures, he can therefore tell the difference between truth and lies.
Names of Mountains and Forests | Kohaku knows this because of his time as a servant of Naraku, he often had to memorize places of their hideouts or even to hunt down for demons. After he took over as leader of the Demon Slayers, Kohaku used this knowledge to find out and map the location of demon species, including their hunting and food habits.
Names of Constellations | Kohaku would often spend nights outside and since he is able to read he would then seek papers and books with the names of the stars he had particularly kept an eye on the night before; he eventually memorized the names of most of them and their shapes.
which "-core" aesthetic are you?
fairycore
oh, how you'd love to run from this mundane place. you are an incredibly imaginative person, and you feel trapped by all the rules that society forces you to follow. you long for the day you'll be able to find yourself a place far away from the city, unbothered by all the stress charateristic of it. until then, you'll keep on finding comfort in your daydreams.

𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐄𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐎𝐅?
patron of amends
it is not the most gratifying of works, but someone must oversee it. making amends is a tricky, slippery thing: they require sincerity and devotion, open ears and naked hearts. you cannot guarantee acceptance, only the sliver of time in which they can be seen and heard and attempt repentance. think of a festering wound and the healer that must clean and close it, plagued by the thought of underlying infection, amputation, certain death. consider of the likelihood of those terrors, but also: think of the injured at rest, then nursed back to full health and continuing to live a fruitful life.
you are the god of tenderness and volatility, of intimate vulnerability and deep breaths, of searching for a safe place to land. god of misty eyes, god of the strength to still shaking hands, god of realizing wrongdoings and personal failures.
defender of the prideful who are working towards humbleness, of sinners that will never again be entirely righteous. the one who blesses those fighting to make things right, falling onto swords and walking through fire if it can afford even just the smallest chance at forgiveness.
the planter of the seed of closure, that will grow only when nurtured.
