Balia:…………… I would be lying if i said that I didn’t still miss him….. He was the first guy I…… I really wanted it to work….. I… I fell head over heels and I thought… that he did too…. but…… I went and messed it all up! I must have! 

I’ve tried to date other guys. I really have… but…well… I couldn’t…. it’s hard. And even harder now with this crud that happened to me… and my time with him being the last time I felt safe?……. It’s just hopeless.

My father keeps emotionally abusing my mother, but she does not wish for my or my sister’s help. Every time we try to speak back to him, she’d look at us with this disapproving gaze as if we had done something bad.

I’m honestly so tired of it, and I can safely say I’m growing disgusted of my father. I didn’t asked for this. I’m even considering the possibility of leaving her alone each time he starts to mistreat her because I just can’t take it anymore. If she’s alright with her husband as he is, then fine.

But I still don’t believe that a true spouse would be the kind that blame its significant other for being robbed in a grocery store and almost getting killed, nor one that says things like “You cannot go against my will and the fact that you left me alone at the parking lot only because I threatened to kick the hell of the ‘payment machine’ and to leave the mall without paying while spitting insults at you and everyone and everything else in this entire world is ridiculous. Be a woman for once.”

You can say whatever you want. Tell me I’m naïve and stupid and too young to understand marriage but there’s no way in hell you’re going to convince me that what my father does is not wrong. My mother can’t bring her own family (aunts, nephews and so on) to her own house because then he’ll say “You do not care about me. The stupid people on your side of the family is all you can think about. You don’t love me at all,” or something along these lines. 

This is not a relationship. You’re a fucking hostage.

And I don’t need to be over 40 to fucking understand that.
