“Are you stupid?” Her uncle berated her, had been berating her, since they’d picked up the guy. Lenny had tuned him out, but the word stupid brought her head up and she frowned, an ice pack on her cheek. Frowning hurt. Everything hurt. And one of her molars felt loose. Beside her, the man in cuffs snickered and Lenny elbowed him.
“This is your fault,” she hissed at him. 22 and freshly in training to help the family business, she had been the right bait to get this dude out of hiding and back in jail where he belonged.
“Me? You teased me and now I’m in cuffs, got what you deserved is what you got,” the man grumbled.
He’d been at a club and she’d had to put on clubwear to get in and heels had probably been a dumb choice, but would they have let her in if she had worn sneakers with her abbreviated skirt and the loose top that plunged in the front to hide her badge and tazer in the back? No. So she’d gone inside, in heels, and found the guy in the pics her uncle had shown her. Chatted him up. Led him outside for what he probably thought was going to be a blowjob or a quick alley fuck, and turned out to be Lenny’s uncle being out back with the car, the cuffs, and a smile. Her guy had then elbowed her in the face and knocked her over, breaking her heel in the process. Then he’d kicked her, which is why her uncle got him anyway.
