First there was just fire, flames leaping at his skin and so much pain he felt like he was losing his mind for good. Then there was suddenly no feeling at all, just the very unusual sensation of floating, like his body lost all its weight. The eyes he had closed to protect them from the flames fluttered open only to find that he was surrounded by complete darkness.
The kind of darkness that was more an endless abyss than anything else, a place where escape felt impossible. And then a strange jolt rushed through his body and the sensation of floating changed into that of falling. He couldn't tell for how long he was feeling into nothing, but once he felt it had stopped, an electric jolt rushed through his whole body. Then there was this warm tingling sensation pulsing through him, and it went then to his fingertips and the tips of his toes.
The next thing he was able to feel was a second heatwave-like pulse rushing through his body, making him feel like the fire had never touched his skin. Niragi felt different and not different at the same time, it was a sensation that one couldn't describe with words. He really hadn't felt anything like this before. And even though part of him was in an uproar, he wasn't feeling truly surprised that something unexpected had happened. He wouldn't go down normally.
His life had been turned upside down in strange ways before as he found himself in this strange world without any laws. So maybe this was the hell he had been yearning for. It would be fucking fitting end for him even though he would prefer to haunt people.
His thoughts got interrupted as he sensed something warm and floating behind his closed eyes. The young male's eyes flew open, and he found himself surrounded by darkness yet again. But that darkness got lit up a few steps away from him by warm lights floating around as if they wanted to become stars in the night sky. The lights suddenly stilled, and then he heard clapping from somewhere.
Niragi's eyes narrowed in suspicion at nothing, in particular all his instincts telling him to stay on guard. He had learned not to trust anything or anyone after life had fucked him over more than once. Those guys in school that had bullied him in ways no one should ever be bullied in, and then fucking Chishiya was the one that ended his life. It had ended because his guard was done for a fucking second. It would be laughable if he wasn't getting pissed now.
Then the young male's gaze caught the floating lights moving again and, as he narrowed his eyes at them, one of them became bigger and started to make its way over to him. It started to pulse, and he felt a strange warmth radiating from him as it stopped right in front of his face.
"Congratulations Niragi! Your strong connection to the world of the living and your equally strong desire to get back at people resulted in you being sent back as a day goblin." An unknown voice said inside the young male's head and the voice seemed to come from that fucking floating light right in front of him. Instinctively, he let out a snort and rolled his eyes while crossing his arms in front of his legs as he was now sitting on the ground.
"Why would I fucking believe you? And even if I did, why would I fucking care? I will just be sent back to lick my wounds, right?" he asked, his tone clearly giving away he didn't trust anything that faceless voice said. But that voice just started to laugh, and the light began to dance around him.
"Becoming a day goblin means that fate itself has decided to let you have a second chance. You still have a purpose, and you now have the ability to change your fate." The voice continued while Niragi's male’s arms fell to his sides and his fingers balled into fists. He had fought so hard to stay alive, and he had done so much to become a version of himself that he could live with while he had played those deadly games to just have a few days more. This couldn’t have been all for nothing… and the fact he was still breathing was the proof he was right.
"I see you're finally willing to truly listen." The voice continued inside his head and the floating light came in front of him again. "As a day goblin, you have the choice to stay in your human form or turn into a flame. Being a flame allows you to travel through the hair, or you just go straight where you want to be. You can stay in Borderlands or go back to the real world. There is no limit to how many times you can do that." The explanation started and Niragi tried to memorize everything he was being told.
"Also, you can’t die again and all wounds you will get in the future will heal and heal faster than those of a human. You will age very slowly and only at will. And the only way to become human again is to tie your red string of fate to the red string of a human. But that is a rare thing to happen.” The young male immediately looked down at his arms and his eyes widened as he saw that his burned skin had already started to heal. He then looked up at the light again.
"Is there a catch in this? Some rules I have to follow or will I get punished?" Niragi asked, not willing to believe he had been handed a second chance like that. But once again, the faceless voice just laughed.
"I wouldn't go as far as calling it a room, but the goblin king, who created all goblins, made your kind steal the yin energy of humans or other supernatural beings. If you do it too much, the other person might never wake up again. Some call it a curse and others can't care less. It's up to you to decide what it is." As the voice stopped, Niragi's lips curled up into a smile for a split second. "And why are you telling me all of this?" He asked, and the light pulsed once. "This is my purpose for getting to stay alive. I've been here so long I can't even remember my name."
Then the floating light joined his friends again. "It's time for me to go and once you're fully healed, you can decide where to go. The place and point in time is entirely up to you. Good luck." And with that all the lights vanished in an instant, and he was alone in the darkness. A strange sleepiness began to float over his body and before long his eyes closed again.
He fell into something that was close to sleep even though it wasn't exactly sleep but the state of healing. And once he woke up from it he would pop up at the place and time he desired to see the most.
(( I saw what I wanted to see and I must say Niragi working with troubled youth wasn’t on my bingo card. But I can see it as a redemption arc and the proof that he was never the real bad guy in the real world. I think I will add this to one of my muses verses or to both. But I will decide in which threads it will play a role.
When I'm walking down the street they say, "Hey, sexy" (hey, sexy)
When I'm dancing in the club they say, "Hey, sexy" (hey, sexy)
When I'm driving in my car, or I'm standing at the bar
It don't matter where I are, they say, "Hey, sexy" (hey, sexy)
Silly boys/girls, they loving me so much
Silly boys/girls, you can look, but you can't touch

Humans as well as all supernatural beings have a red string of fate attached to their pinky finger. Day and night goblins are aware of its existence and so are some other supernatural beings. The red string of fate can get tied to another person’s red string if both want it, if they choose to be together. It can be a conscious decision or it can happen unconsciously if both sides feelings are really strong. The tied strings mean they are connected now in every possible. How that connection shows is different for everyone for example sensing where the other person is or whether they are in trouble. Or if goblin has his string tied to a human he may start to age so they can leave the world together. It’s as individual as people are. But the red string of fate can also get cut. It can be a decision of both people or one side can decide to sever the tides. You can connect the strings again though if you want. But after cutting the string they will feel a strange sensation around their pinky finger and it will only go away if they tie their string to someone else again.
(( This part of the songs suits Niragi the most. It's how people imagine he is and it's about what they talk about him. Even though if he is really committed to someone he won't cheat. You think it suits him too?
