When did you create RD?

I made RD when I was in college.

They have always been a self insert character.

RD actually started off as a homestuck self insert and then werewolf/vampire hybrid, a mutt if you will, in a webcomic I made a bit after.

I remember RD had this black tears thing when they were upset, do they still have that?

They do! Its not just when theyre upset. Its when they have a breakdown, the overwhelming feeling of drowning and despair. A panic attack.

It happened less but it still happens from time to time. RD tried their best but sometimes it just overflows.

I happened when River left Vesuvia. There were alot of thoughts going through RD.

What do the Kids Call RD since they’re Non-binary? For some reason in my Head I imagine them saying A fancy Non gender Specific word for parent like “Genesis” or something similar

The twins refer to RD as Nonny and Asra as Baba

It took me a really long time to choose and I settled for that

I sure can! And let me know if you have any specific questions about them too ^^

The twins were both doted on by both parents. RD did seem to slightly favor River while Asra slightly favored Ria.

When ria had her outburst, she ended up getting more attention from both asra and RD which made River feel a bit neglected.

The twins lean towards asra more bc hes more easy going and openly loving compared to RD.

Ria is more open about loving and appreciating her parents than River. She would talk to them and send gifts from her travels every so often. River has an undertone of underappreciation towards both parents even when coming back to vesuvia. He rarely contacted his parents when he was away despite RD and Asras efforts to keep in touch.

After the plot point, River becomes more appreciative and loving towards asra and RD. Ria still shows love and appreciation for her parents but does give off a colder vibe after her plot point.

Does RD consider themself a good parent? And if not what cute things does Asra do to help their confidence? Also I absolutely adore your OCs!!

RD feels theyre not good enough all the time. Even asra feels that way too. They do their best and get reassured by Aisha and Salim who know theyre doing good.

Sometimes, Asra tries to reassure RD by showing them the art they did together like drawings or jewelry making.

RD wears the newest bracelet or necklace the kids make for them and hang the older ones around the shop as decoration.

She is RD’s evil ex girlfriend.

This was RDs first relationship and wanted to do well by her as much as they could. She and RD got into a relationship in the early stages of the band. The girl would try to convince the band to let her sing despite being a terrible singer. Since Julith was the leader at the time, she would say no.

She is incredibly judgemental of the band and would try to make changes but RD goes with whatever Julith says since she started the band. This girl would tear at RDs self esteem and try to get them to quit Julith's band and start a new one with her but RD always refused. She was also they type to make fun about RD's genitals to her friends, outing RD to many people.

This girl is actively jealous of anyone who RD is friendly towards, especially julith. By the time they got together, julith and RD were best friends for a few years. Julith is very friendly and would give cheek kisses to RD. This would make the girl throw a tantrum even though she knew of this behavior before getting in a relationship. RD would tell julith no more cheek kisses so julith started with head kisses. The girl has friends who would have the same kissing behavior yet RD never had a problem with it so when it was brought up during one of her scenes, she thought she could prove a point by making out with one of her "friends" (ex boyfriend) in front of RD.

This leads to RD and the girl having a nasty breakup.

During their relationship, RD would become more and more depressed and the girl would make RD think that the reason they were so unhappy was because of themself. Any fights they had, the girl would convince RD it was their fault. Whenever anything good happens, the girl would downplay it and even sometimes paint it as something bad or not worthy.

When they broke up, RD was still depressed but Julith was there for them. The girl would show up at Julith's house (since that's where the band would practice) demanding to speak with RD. She would stalk them on campus and would approach RD all lovey dovey and super cute then scream at RD when they bring up the break up.

Eventually she backed off after a year they broke up. By then, julith and RD get into a relationship (dragonlily) which puts the girl into a jealous frenzy. She took it to another level by sharing personal information about RD and sent dragonlily "food gifts from a fan" which got RD extremely sick.

Julith has connections with various types of people somehow and used one of them to stop the girl from causing any more harm to RD.

RD does hog the blankets unintentionally but when they feel like they have too much they will slightly wake up to pull the blanket over asra so he has enough. I think asra tends to snuggle close to whomever he sleeps with by if his time sleeping in the streets and the dock with Muriel. RD will slowly make it a habit to not hog the blanket the more they sleep together.

First off, RD has to wiggle out of Asra’s grasp. After they get out, they get themselves a drink and wash their face and fix their hair. RD doesn’t eat breakfast and just gets right to work.

Their closest friend is Asra and there is a comic on when they first met (twice).

Besides Asra, RD doesn’t have many friends due to their limited social skills but those who can look past that and are cheerful and outgoing will be able to get close to them over time. I haven’t really gotten a chance to have other mcs interact in the main story but RD really likes Prim and Julith and are shy around Nell and Julianne. Can you blame them for being shy around such beautiful, cool women? Lol

II. What was your MC’s first impression of their LI? What about their LI’s first impression of them? Was it accurate or did them getting to know one another change how they saw each other?

They met once as children (but asra doesn’t remember) and RD thought they were some sort of deity bc they never saw someone look so pretty with hair and eyes like theirs. Then Asra stole from RD and they avoided him until they met again as teenagers. For Asra, I had him be cautious of RD because he sensed strong magical energy radiating from them but eventually falls for them bc despite their power and demeanor, RD was generous and caring.

III. Where in the Arcana world map does your MC come from? What was their life like there?

EDIT: I found a description of the land and I changed up some stuff

In the far east edge of Firent, there’s a medium-ish village that RD barely grew up in. They were supposed to grow up in a noble household where RD would learn and grow up to be a nobleman themself but was driven out by a mob as a toddler for being a magic user. Magic users were generally welcomed bc they would be able to bring good fortune in hard times such as harsh winters or droughts but the silver tongued father convinced the villagers otherwise.

IV. How did your MC and their LI first profess their feelings for one another? Was it a slow burn? Love at first sight?

Neither was love at first sight but Asra developed feelings way earlier than RD. There were a few comics where Asra would tell RD how he felt like in For You and Masquerade. Other than that, there was the first time he said “I love you” to RD and that was when RD was laughing hard at their own joke. For RD, they accidentally said “I love you” very casually and freaked out when they realized what they said and ran to the market. They also did make a move on Asra in the comic Nopal.
