Andromeda ‘Rommie’ Laruzedah nee Dulaque’s tale is a story of rags to riches. Starting as an orphan and petty thief in the Brume, she developed potent skills assessing what a person values and how to exploit those values. When she eventually left Ishgard, Rommie took all the skills of a con artist and dexterity of a thief and combined them into a career of courtesany. And she was truly gifted at that work.

As the Madame and owner of Thavnair-styled pillowhouse The Bandee Pakshee, Rommie has used the influence and prestige she’s generated to advocate for sex workers worldwide.  But she also sees the role of a pillowhouse as more than a brothel -- it ought to be a holistic provider of pleasure and comfort. That ranges from comfort food to massage to sex for hire.

Rommie had no family of blood, to her knowledge, so she became a proponent of found families. First as a member of the Ishgardian street gang the Brume Rats and over time at her places of work beyond the Steps of Faith as well. So ingrained is the found family philosophy that when Rommie married her life’s great love Rheya Tayuun, they decided to start their own new ‘clan’, Laruzedah. Literally, Laruzedah is a combination of Ishgardian and Meracydian Miqo’te words to create ‘Daughters of the Street’, the most appropriate name two orphans could come up with.

Rommie is the owner of the Free Company Bandee Pakshee on Balmung.

♥ How do they feel about polygamy?

Polyamory is an occupational necessity, really. And it’s something that’s worked pretty well for Rommie and Rheya. They have rules and follow them, and both are happy with how it works out. 

♥ Do they seek to find a partner purely to further the bloodline and name, is it for true love, or is it for pleasure alone?

Rommie isn’t good at knowing what love is, and forwarding her bloodline means nothing to her, both being romantically gay and not having a bloodline of any consequence or significance. That leaves pleasure. And boy, does Rommie like pleasure.

ಥoಥ: How are they like when they cry? Do they just stream tears nonstop? Does their nose get clogged to the point that it’s hard to breathe? Is it easy for them to speak when they are sobbing? Do they hiccup when they cry?

When she’s really, honestly crying, it’s big damn sobs, and sometimes it’s hard to breathe. The worst was dealing with the death of her adoptive daughter Andy, which did leave her with breathing trouble, having trouble speaking, though mercifully she didn’t hiccup.

20. Do you sleep partially/fully naked?

“In Thanalan, usually fully naked. The only place where I regularly sleep clothed is in Ishgard,” she gave a small shrug. “The rest is how the mood strikes me, and what feels most comfortable to me at the time. That’s usually just panties or nothing at all, but sometimes I do curl up in a nightgown.”

19. Do you like being naked?

“I adore being naked,” Rommie said cool and matter-of-factly. “I would parade around nude most of the time if I could get away with it. I put a lot of effort into this body and I intend to show it off! Plus, good for business, right?” She smiled, winked. “Modesty is something that’s never been of much interest to me, truth to tell, and I spend bells every morning making my appearance just so. I like when people look, and appreciate. To say nothing of it being comfortable in Thanalan’s heat.”

There was a pineapple-infused rum she got from Lemieux Skytrade back in the day that she’d completely fallen in love with. As it was the captain’s personal supply, she’s never been able to find something that seemed to recapture the original, but she’s got some on hand at the Pakshee, and a few bottles of Lemieux’s rum that are saved for the right occasion.

Favourite place to have sex?

“Gods, do I have to choose?” she frowned and closed her eyes. There were so many good ones. “By the waterfall in Amethyst Shallows. Or, I suppose, the Brimming Heart. But it combines a few things I really love. Water, the sound of a waterfall, the gentle mist off it, and the risk of being caught.”
