(Note I did this for Dragon Age Rynn since that’s the muse that was tagged in this. If any of my partners want 8 headcanons for other verses, let me know) 

1. During her teen years, Rynn was sent to Orlais for finishing school. Her family wanted her to be successful in both Fereldan culture and the Grand Game of Orlais. She did not enjoy her time here as the Orlesians found her to be a bit too much of a curiosity and very few attempted to get to know her as a person. 

2. In DA Modern verse, Rynn lost her brother to the Circles, which sent the fiery mage on a rampage. Her powers weren’t exactly controllable in that state, and all she wanted was revenge. She was about to carve a path of destruction straight to the heart of the Circle that killed Jona when she was stopped by a certain Elven Mage. Solas introduced her to his mission, stopping her from making mistakes that would likely kill her. This is why she has such a strong loyalty to him, and she has been an integral part in building his resistance.

3. Despite her strong belief in the soulmate system of the Aftermath verse, Rynn herself was beginning to believe she’d never find her partner. Her powers were already rather strong, she figured that was that. And then when she met Aden and everything was revealed, she couldn’t help but laugh. Granted, that laughter happened after the immediate horror but the ultimate joke of the universe was not lost on her. 

4. In Rynn’s Inquisitor verse, she initially isn’t necessarily drawn to anyone - or at least, that’s what she tells herself. After a particularly difficult day, Rynn finds herself in Cullen’s office, seeking the commander’s calming presence and all at once she realizes it hits her. She couldn’t even count how many nights she spent talking to him until too late or how often she’d sought out his comfort. It wasn’t long after that night that the two became inseparable -- much to the surprise of literally no one else. Rynn heard later that Leliana and Josephine had bets on how long it would take Rynn and Cullen to get together..

5. In the Aden/Max/Rynn Inquisitor verse, her father got onto her multiple times about spending too much time with Aden riding horses. He claimed people would start spreading rumors about the two of them and it would ruin Rynn’s chances for an advantageous marriage. His concerns, of course, only caused her to spend more time with the young man. 

6. Rynn genuinely loves Cole and views him as a surrogate younger brother. For this reason she is very protective of him. While she’s never done it in front of the spirit, Rynn has gone to blows regarding comments others have made about him. Fortunately, people eventually figured out not to insult him in front of her. Cole has on more than one occasion tried to ease her anger at the way some people treat him or discuss him. Rynn is also known to indulge in Cole’s quirks and games, making sure to explain to others why they need to be understanding of the way he handles things.

7. Rynn has a positive relationship with most of the female party members as well as Leliana, Josephine, and Harding. She didn’t have very many close female friends before the Inquisition and therefore values these relationships very highly. While she loves these new relationships, it does often make her somewhat sad as she wonders what she missed out on by not having female friends in her formative years.

8. Rynn drinks from the Well of Sorrows because she feels it is wrong to allow another to drink in her place when the Mark is her burden to bear. She also does not entirely trust Morrigan and prefers to be in control of the situation. Cullen gives her quite the reaming after this decision.

Though Rynn has thrown off most trappings of her noble life, she is absolutely helpless in the face of a really nice, long, hot bath. If she ever settles anywhere she will splurge on bath products and the like.

Though Rynn is not a mage, she fully believes some of the things in her dreams are real. While she's fairly certain she doesn't go to the Fade, she absolutely thinks she gets hints and information about various things. For this reason, she pays close attention to them.

This one is simple: Rynn cannot cook. She tries, but lord is she not skilled at it. She's often wondered if she has literally been cursed to always undercook or over cook her food. She can manage on the road well enough but anything more complicated is a net loss.

Meta on Pets for Rynn. Anything goes.

Rynn loves animals, though that may not always be readily apparent since she typically doesn’t have any. Cats are her favorite as far as acceptable pets are concerned - they’re easy, they smell better than dogs, and they sort of have... an understanding. Rynn respects that they are independent creatures, and therefore when a cat deigns to show her attention she is always delighted. 

Very few verses allow her a lifestyle for pets, unfortunately, which is why she generally doesn’t have a cat of her own. As much as she loves the creatures, she doesn’t feel its fair to keep one if she’s never home or constantly putting herself in danger. This is especially true in her medieval verses, since she’s normally on the road, and her superhero verse - there would be no one to go looking for the cat and take care of it if some ill fate befell her. 

Rynn will, however, immediately try to greet any cat that crosses her path. She particularly loves it when she goes into a shop and there’s a surprise cat curled up on a chair or wandering around the place. She will drop whatever mission she is on and delight in the little beastie as long as is reasonable. 

Her face also lights up if she’s walking around a city and a dog shows an interest in her. While cats are her preference, she loves dogs too and will always stop to pet one, should the owner say its okay. If her friends have a pet, she will spoil the little creature as much as allowed.

modern au headcanon: 1,7,8,12

1. opinions on the following things: ugg boots, electric scooters, starbucks, shaved sides haircut, selfie sticks, beanies.

Ugg Boots: She wears them around the house but would never where them out. Starbucks: Definitely. Something iced and delicious. Shaved Sides: Depending on verse, she might actually have this haircut. She loves it. Selfie Sticks: Too much work. If someone else wants them fine, but she’s not taking the time to deal with them. Beanies: She likes them on men with long hair but doesn’t personally wear them. 

7.  one example of a significant change in their backstory now that the world’s changed. 

I try to keep most of it as consistent as possible, and it does vary verse to verse. Instead of being a princess, she’s the daughter of either a famous politician or a socially important family. Usually the arranged marriage is still a factor, but its less publicly known. 

8. describe their closet. 

Rynn enjoys clothing, though not to excess. She typically favors any sort of sleeveless top and tight pants. Usually in darker colors. She has a collection of jackets larger than anyone needs, as well as a few too many pairs of combat boots and Doc Martens. She has never owned a floral print in her life and generally avoids anything too dainty or wholesome. Expect an edgy spin to everything. She likes to accessorize to some extent, but it tends to be silver jewelry with black stones or accents. Think obsidian, black diamond etc. For formal where, she favors high-low dresses or things with slits. These tend to be in jewel tones that compliment her coloring. Most of her clothing tends to be on the functional side. 

There is one exception to this - her around-the-house clothes. For relaxing at home, she favors soft cotton leggings, large shirts that hang off her shoulders, and fluffy socks. 

12. name a few of their favourite pieces of popular culture.

Superhero movies for sure (Black Widow is her favorite). She’s also fond of True Crime and Paranormal documentaries.
