CIS-MALE, HE/HIM. Hey, is that TOM BLYTH? No, that is just BROOKS THORNTON around Cypress Cove. I heard they are 26 years old, and their birthday is NOVEMBER 8, 1999. They rest their head on the COAST, but can mainly be found working at the CYPRESS COVE MARINE CENTER helping rehabilitate injured marine animals. Some say they are LOYAL, PATIENT, and PROTECTIVE but can also be STUBBORN, GUARDED, and QUIETLY SELF-SACRIFICING. If they had a theme song it would be “ENDS OF THE EARTH” by LORD HURON. I hear they are a NEWCOMER, but either way Cypress Cove is home and welcomes you!

Brooks Thornton grew up in a household that was rarely quiet but often felt strangely empty. His parents were constantly traveling, chasing business opportunities and experiences that kept them away more often than they were home. While they insisted their children were lucky to have such an adventurous upbringing, the reality was that Brooks and his younger sister Demelza were often left to raise themselves.
Being only about a year and a half older didn’t stop Brooks from naturally falling into the role of protector. He figured out laundry, homework schedules, and how to keep things together when the house felt too quiet. Demelza wasn’t just his sister, she was his teammate in surviving a childhood that required more independence than most kids their age ever experienced.
When Demelza got pregnant at sixteen, Brooks didn’t hesitate about where he stood. While their parents saw the situation as an embarrassment and a disruption to their carefully curated lives, Brooks saw only his sister needing someone in her corner. When the arguments finally ended with Demelza being pushed out of the house, Brooks walked out with her.
Those years weren’t easy. Between school, jobs, and helping care for Demelza and her son Ross, Brooks learned how to carry responsibility without complaining about it. Ross grew up seeing Brooks less like an uncle and more like a constant presence in his life. Eventually the two siblings made their way to Cypress Cove, chasing the promise of steadier work and a chance to start fresh somewhere that didn’t know their history.
Brooks found his place at the Cypress Cove Marine Center, working with the rehabilitation team that treats injured sea turtles, dolphins, and other marine life. The job suits him in a way he didn’t expect. The work is quiet, patient, and purposeful. Animals don’t judge mistakes. They don’t gossip about past decisions. They just need someone willing to help them heal.
When he’s not at the marine center, Brooks can usually be found at Driftwood Bar & Grill where Demelza manages the restaurant, often helping however he can while Ross runs circles around them both.
He’s not someone who talks much about the past or the sacrifices he’s made along the way. Brooks prefers to focus on the things right in front of him. The people he cares about. The work that needs doing. For him, that’s always been enough.
