mikey was the one who…
spoilers undercut
told sanzu to kill mucho…it breaks my heart because i remember seeing a post a while ago about how the only time we’ve ever seen sanzu ‘distress’ (if that’s the correct word they used) was when the body of mucho was found and you can see sanzu having dark circles in the zoom in.
(also look at his whole face in general, it’s definitely more than just a blank face imo)
i don’t think the original post mentioned the theory (can’t remember) but only that sanzu liked mucho and that his death haunts him, hence the dark circles.
but i just imagine haru going up mikey after toman disbanded and mikey was like, “okay, you want in? kill mucho for betraying me. prove your loyalty.”
and it just hurts because it probably messed him up. him killing the only person he most likely saw as an older brother and the only one that understood him. but in the end it didn’t matter what his feelings towards mucho was, mikey will always matter.
mucho also mentioned about sanzu following him blindly.
this later falls into place because he was doing everything mucho was telling him to do. from kidnapping koko and inui, to takemichi.
but it’s not after takemichi mentioned that mucho was betraying mikey and toman, sanzu took a pause.
(him contemplating…)
(sanzu looking ahead and probably already making his decision to follow mucho until further notice…)
kinda off topic but i also think that mikey mentioned mucho when toman disbanded because it was like the baji situation when baji betrayed toman.
before going to battle with valhalla he told his gang how he doesn’t want to fight baji and wants him back. no difference with mucho imo. and i just realized that they both died in the end whoops. (being sacrificed/sacrificing themselves).
basically what i’m trying to say is that he most likely saw him toman’s fifth division captain and later used him as a way to get haru to prove his loyalty.
or it also could’ve been haru killing him himself (whether he told mikey or not before, probably not) and showing him his loyalty after.
like; “look mikey, i killed him for you. he betrayed toman, i was just playing my cards right.”
him taking pills in the future? did he started taking those as a way to cope with his wrongdoings in the name of mikey? we see him taking those pills before killing bonten’s traitors, a different contrast from his first killing.
anyways if this theory is true, mikey telling haru to laugh makes more sense. sanzu would do anything mikey tells him to do, his feelings don’t matter.
