Today's Events
1. Young, Gifted, and Black Teach-in @ 5:30pm:
"What is a teach-in you ask? It's a form of non-violent protest which uses one of the most powerful protest tools of all: Educational Empowerment. The concept arose in the 1960s, when students and staff at many universities wanted to participate in worthwhile movements but found it difficult to do so on university grounds. Come hear from the Young, Gifted, & Black Coalition, a group of young Black leaders, in and of the people, who have been committed to liberating the Black community, through collective empowerment, action, and organizing against state violence and for community control. Tonight at 5:30pm. Union South."
2. Undergraduate Student Budget Forum @ 6:30pm:
"A one-hour forum focused on undergraduate-specific issues will take place on Monday, Feb. 23 at 6:30 p.m. in Varsity Hall at Union South, 1308 W. Dayton St.
The chancellor will open with remarks. A Q&A period will follow. Administrators will be present to answer questions and represent divisions such as human resources, the vice chancellor for finance and administration, the Graduate School and others."
