I've been collecting every piece of media I've seen recommended over the past week. I'm so uneducated on the experiences of Black people in America, and the burden should not be placed on others to educate me. In compiling these lists though, it feels like there is an overwhelming amount of information to study up on, research, take notes about. And there is. There are lifetimes of trauma and suffering that will continue building if nothing changes. But these resources are about educating yourself, so just pick one to start with. Pick one, and absorb the information, then move on to that new book or show that you wanted to watch, and then maybe come back and pick another. This particular list is of podcasts that have been recommended. Primarily they are by and about the Black experience, but some are Latinx, Indigenous, and Asian. If you have any other recommendations, I would be happy to amend the list, add more, or make a new page. I have also been collecting books (nonfiction, fiction, and children's), movies, and Tv shows. If you have any recommendations for those categories, drop a comment! I have not listened to any of these yet, I am starting 1619 by NPR today. Everything listed is available on Spotify. Based on lists by Sophie Flicker & Alyssa Klein, Haley Faulkner, and a few I could not track down the original poster of posted on Instagram - https://instagr.am/p/CBG2WF-p9O8/
