This is an old skate painting from 2004 called “The Man about to Crash”. It’s one of my few political pieces cause I dont have much faith in politricks as a way to effectively resolve our world’s problems. I usually prefer a spiritual approach, since it addresses the root. If we heal and find the love in our hearts, we will unite and make things right for everyone and the planet. The problem is that the people in power don’t do that healing work and seem to be some of the sickest of us. Since they somehow hold the power that affects us, we find ourselves in a tricky situation. Stuff is getting gnarly in the world. All these fires are the loud cry of the planet asking us to do what is right. A lot of us try our best as individuals, but some leaders rather sell out nature, deny climate change or go to war to protect their egos. Pretty frustrating. What to do? Sometimes I surrender to the situation the universe is giving us to learn a lesson. But I never give up the optimistic hope that things will turn around. That we will elect leaders that put the environment as a priority. That we will continue to take steps as individuals to support ethical/sustainable industries and practices. That new technologies can give us clean/free energy and fix up the mess we’ve done. I don’t want people to suffer anymore. Everyone should have their needs met and enjoy the gift of life. And I believe that most of us wishes everyone else the same. The divisions are just a result of fear n brainwashing, but it’s not our true nature. I have faith we can heal ourselves and the planet. Let’s not let the confused people on the top write history for us. Let’s do what we can, let’s help whoever we can. Don’t feel guilty of not being perfect neither, forgive yourself as we should be compassionate also for our leaders. We can do this, but let’s get to work. Stay up!
