May I ask what it is Pauley said most recently that has gotten people so upset with her? And also I must thank you for the recent rant! I always feel so bad for the cast and especially Emily for all the crap they get after cote left. It's quite sad.
Recently, I couldn’t tell you. I unfollowed and blocked her months ago.
However, she got very upset with fans who were upset about Cote’s departure, and we’re talking days after we learned about it. Fans were curious and wanted to know what happened, and we reached out to whoever we could. Pauley was one of them. She took it as personal attacks and lashed out, saying her Twitter is a “negativity free” zone - when people were just asking. (I’m sure there were a few people who actually were nasty, but I’d say a vast majority was just trying to find an answer. Somewhere.)
There was an incident where she publicly started blocking anyone who talked to her about Cote, for any reason. I don’t remember what brought that on, but that was the incident that caused me to block her.
And there was another incident where she privately messaged a fan something that was incredibly rude about Cote, basically trashing her and saying she was just a greedy money-grubber among other things. The fan posted the messages publicly (because honestly who wouldn’t) and Pauley publicly shamed her, calling her out and saying that her trust was betrayed. By a known 12 year old girl. The girl was devastated after her then-idol blocked her and called her out.
There are probably other incidents that I can’t recall, but her antics on Twitter have been very “stop bullying me!” when she’s done her fair share of it herself.
And yes, no one in the cast should have to take any abuse from Cote’s fans. We’re upset and angry about her departure and we miss her terribly but the cast doesn’t have anything to do with it. I can sort of understand when they get upset at the cast members for acting like Cote wasn’t an important part of the show, but they have to promote the show. As-is. If the cast acts like “Yep, we suck now because Cote left,” then they’ll lose even more viewers.
This has been super long already. But I could probably write a lot more on this if I keep going - I’m at work though, so I won’t. :)
