Hello! I hope you don't mind me asking but I really want to know more about your Warrior of Light, because Sol is just wonderful and so very interested character for me! <з He looks both traumatized, cryptic and kind-hearted man, and I am wondering is it just his personality, a consequence of specific events of the game (or maybe pre– or post–game), or is there something more? 👀

I also remember that art of yours where you depicted Azem as an eclipse (if I'm not mistaken??), so I suddenly wondered if Sol's cryptidity was connected to Azem in any way? Does your Azem and Sol share any memories, sinister secrets, personality, or is there something else here? 👀👀👀

This took me such a long time to answer, both due to busy life schedule in these last months, and because, well, I had to write this from scratch and my head haha

And to start off, with an earlier point of Sol's story - Azem. I would not be writing too much (as I fear to loose my own thought), but the basic aspects of his will be enough for this, I think xD

His name is Notos (aka Notus, one of the wind-gods, god of South Wind from Greek mythology):

and he does embody that free wind spirit, as well as the storm aspects of it. He was born with the desire to explore the world in both aspects - physical and aethereal. One of his main fields of study was understanding the nature and composition of Etheirys, which was mainly done with a variation of aether sight, which was closer to projecting your mind out of your body via it, by looking. And looking. At everything. Trying to understand the origin and nature of all things on the planet.

And Notos did excel at that, having enough strength and mental fortitude for this. Until one time, instead of looking inside the planet and organisms on it, he stole a glance... outside of it, just a glimpse. A tiny glance at the cosmos surrounding them. It left him fascinated. Mesmerized. Wanting to take one more look at it. And there was just so much to look at.

And so, he couldn't stop himself from doing just that.

His study shifted to trying to understand that great beyond, the energy, the stars, the galaxies, the movements of them all by watching and trying to understand it all, relentlessly. And he did just that, using his very soul and mind to Look. Until. Something Looked Back at him.

It was something so... incomprehensible, so Existing and Not, There and Not There, simultaneously. Something that one glimpse of was enough to shatter/not shatter his mind. It left his mind a mess, a cracked one, that changed him forever, as once he saw something, he couldn't stop seeing more of that everywhere he looked at, oozing through the walls of reality, and warping the linear flow of time for him.

And that in itself led him to being able to get flashes, memories of the horrific future, though with no control over them. They were so chaotic and random, that it forced him to withdraw from the active Convocation work. Starting his great work of trying to piece together tiny puzzles of ten thousand years of history of his future incarnations/shards ahead. And hoping that whatever he managed to put together will hold true, and some of his contingencies will come to pass, even as he was working on tiny crumbs of information.

And when the Sundering was imminent, Notos came to realize that, unless he does something, his accursed vision will pass onto his many future reincarnations, bringing them death and pain of Knowing and Seeing. So his last decision was to cut out that part of his soul, that is responsible for it, and seal it. And what is the best place for sealing it? His own soul of course. So, minutes before the sundering took hold he did just that, sealing a small part of himself in the soul that was left to live on on the Source.

In itself that action made the sundering not equal in parts for him, so that part that was supposed to be on 13th was nothing more than a soul of a small animal at best (later unknowingly rejoined with the main body, by a simple proximity to the greater part of rejoined soul).

And so this finally brings us to Sol lol

But as this post is getting longer and longer I'll just point out a few parts for now, specifically considering that one comic: after rejoining with another shard (ardbert) Sol started getting strange... visions, or perhaps memories of a world unsundered, like an echo, but stronger, more personal. More Familiar. Leaving him longing for people he doesn't know or remember anymore, or, perhaps, never knew to begin with. It left him lost, and after suffering a great injury at the end of the universe and "dying" (he got did die,but got better), he got the chance to see that seal inside of his soul. The Seal that became more obvious with every rejoining of the soul that happened, and thus, a bit more conscious.

there is lot I have come up with for Sol's lore, including tragic younger years, him being aimless in in his life until joining Scions, gained friends and skills and so on. So if there will be interest I will write more in the future, as I'm mentally spent right now of words

I have to ask. It's been on my mind for days... Do Sol's limbal rings glow in the dark? Is it like a warning of a predator or more like "I can't turn it off help"? If someone tries sneaking up on him in the night, he can't even crack an eye open because his glowsticks alert the intruders (if they glow that is)

Haha, they do glow!

I chose white color specifically because it seemed like it glows brightly in the dark, and he did (and still sometimes does) scare Scions, especially Alphi, in the dark with them😂

Also, considering that his irises are the same glowing white and are slitted like cat's after shadowbringers, he does come off as intimidating to strangers

(And yeah, his eyes would definitely alert someone sneaking up on him in the dark, he has to use spells to hide those in sneaking battle situations)

To help out the anon that wanted some help regarding getting into One Piece, if they want to try the anime but don't wanna go through the wikia or whatever other place to know what to watch or skip if they want pure canon or not, there's a website called One Pace where a group of people are diligently working into editing and condensing down the anime to skip filler and trim the unnecessary fat from it to make the pace much better. They're still not done with it (I think Skypeia is for exemple the one arc that needs the most work still) but they've been on it for a few years now. There's Japanese and English dubs as well as different multilingual subtitle options.

ah, it was done in honor of new rising event mount! I just found the idea of turning into a mount, instead of summoning and riding one, pretty hilarious and thought about how it could be used to escape unwanted situations or conversations xD

say hello to Advent, an OC of mine (I have made only two OCs in all my life rip me)

I have a very hard time coming up with original stuff, but it is probably one of the most fleshed out ones I've ever managed! He is based on a Maned Wolf (the one with obnoxiously long legs, yes that one), and while I don't have any worldbuilding done for him, he can glimpse future events, which is kinda symbolised in many eyes he has. The only catch up is that those "moments from the future" can be anything. Literally. Ranging from 'a volcano blowing up' to 'your order will be 2 hours late' and he has zero control on when, where and what he sees.

It's not a complex OC by any means, but I still love this weird creature (and besides he makes a very good pfp ;)
