I was rejected from my top med school today. I knew it was a long shot, but I deep down hoped I would at least get an interview. I didn’t, and I am crushed. I have worked so hard for this. This is all I have truly ever wanted. And the rejection hurts, especially this one. I can’t stop crying and obviously this shouldn’t make me feel suicidal in the least but yet I can’t help but think that I wouldn’t feel any of this if I just wasn’t here. I’ve been crying all day at work and I’m trying to put on a happy face. What the fuck does it take to get into med school? My sci gpa is low (along with my MCAT which I will hopefully improve) but I have almost 1000 hours of volunteering at this point, 50 of clinical shadowing, and 400 of working in a clinic. I was a fucking neuroscience major. Like WHAT THE FUCK do they want? I feel bitter about this process yet absolutely crushed at its outcome.
