Absolute statements about humanity (like, everyone does ‘blank’) is a really double-edged sword. It can be comforting to hear on some level to know that you’re not alone, that your experience is something that /everyone else/ has experienced. But if you choose the wrong statement, it can be alienating for others whom the statement doesn’t apply (like: ‘Everyone falls in love!’ Not me, my aro ass is not going anywhere near romance), and that is typically not comforting. Everyone will die eventually, is a true absolute statement, but it’s hardly comforting either. Unless, you think there’s an afterlife, then it might bring security. I don’t know, I don’t know what everyone thinks.
