Asano: Thanks Mother.
Juuzou: Did you just call Yukizome, ' mother ' ?
Asano: No ... I called her a bother, because she keeps bothering me !
Chisa: Do you see me as a mother figure Asano - chan ?
"I bought you these." Messiah says simply, holding out a decorative container - bejeweled and elegant. Inside, it had an assortment of expensive chocolates. He was /trying/ to be polite to the thief who had been his longest time rival, and yet, he couldn't just say Happy Valentine's Day... "Primarily because I know you're far to cheap to obtain them legally. I thought I would eliminate the necessity of you getting your hands dirty again." Oops. He hadn't actually meant to say that...
@absortio || Messiah Reed & Titus Ram
The box was rather exquisite, with its bejeweled outsideand elegant craftsmanship. Titus had to admit, the detective had a good eye. Thishad been a surprisingly generous gesture.
…until the other decided to open his mouth.
Titus scowled, ❝ Tch. You’re an asshole, ya know. If I’dstolen ‘em, it wouldn’t’ve been for me.❞ For the children he looked after,maybe. He wasn’t generally in the business of stealing solely for his own gain.Usually, anyway. Though he did have a penchant for shiny and expensive things…
After snatching the box, the blond proceeded to shove thebouquet of flowers he’d been holding into the other man’s face. With goldeneyes narrowed, he snipped, ❝These are for you, jackass. And before you ask: no,I didn’t steal ‘em,❞ he added with a roll of his eyes.
… though he had stolen the jewelry he’d pawned off formoney to buy said flowers. But Messiah didn’t need to know that. Besides, hewasn’t about to steal from a flower shop. They had it hard enough trying to makea living with the chaotic state of the nation.
( it'll be a while til my new blog is ready, but~ ) Hanzo chuckles quietly, standing outside the smaller Braves room. He'd been out on a mission for a while, and even before reporting in he decided to stop here. "... I'm home." He murmurs, trying not to be too loud. He wasn't sure if she was awake or not, and definitely didn't want to wake her if sleeping. "And safe, Isanami-chan."
@absortio
Was it a blessing or a curse, to be able to say one thing but then unable to actually carry it out? She always told herself that things would be fine - if someone left on a mission, they would come back safely. Yet she spent her waking hours preoccupied with worry, wondering when she would be able to spot that familiar face passing through the gates. She didn’t show it easily, of course. Isanami was notorious for her cheerful disposition and she believed in her friends.
But Hanzo... Hanzo had been gone for weeks. Wasn’t he a top tier shinobi? Shouldn’t he had been back already? ‘I’m not worried’, she might say one moment, but then be staring off absentmindedly for the next. The beginning had been bearable but now, at the end of her ropes, her mind was wandering in worst-case scenarios. Still, for the sake of her sanity and hope, she remained optimistic for his return.
So, she definitely was not excited when she heard his voice through the paper door, and she definitely did not hop up immediately from her futon, blinking sleep out of her eyes as she hastily slid the door open.
And she most certainly is not tackling him into a tight embrace, wrapping her arms around his torso without giving him a chance to say anything more. Safe. A word she relished in. It had a different meaning when she could actually see it though.
❛ You’re a dummy. ❜ She says obstinately, burying her face in a way that hopefully hides her expression. ❛ ... Welcome back. ❜ The words she spoke in reply were soft, afraid that if she spoke them any louder, he might disappear quickly. In spite of her relief, she may or may not be pouting too. ❛ Stay here longer. ❜

Having her world expand ever since the day she lost her first home, Isanami had learned a lot of things. That sheltered life keeping her from the harsh reality, in a way, perhaps there was some gratitude to be had. After all, if things had not changed, perhaps she would not be able to expand her knowledge. Once, her thoughts was that people had the same experiences as her. Though the head priest said that there was suffering in the world and it was their duty to pray to the gods to rectify it, she had never really given any thought to it.
And yet, a year later, she saw many things. She learned that not everyone could have been as fortunate as her, to be taken even after being abandoned by her birth parents, loved by a family not related to her by blood. When Hanzo comments on the exclusivity of the statement, she quirks a brow. Then she lets out a short laugh, awkward but understanding why he had said what he did.
❛ I guess you’re right, ❜ she says, lips twisting in a somber smile. All the things she said, whether it was judging someone for their hobbies or imploring a certain way of life unto another, all that was a result of her upbringing as a priestess. ❛ I’ve always grown up with that kind of idea. But I don’t think it’s a bad thing, to believe that everyone is born as equals. The only exceptions are the gods, of course, but none of us are... well, I digress. ❜ She had almost said ‘none of them’ were gods, but that would be a lie; she harbored a god inside her. ❛ In any case, what does it matter what the masses say? ❜ Bringing her knees up, tilting her head, she manages a glance towards Hanzo. ❛ Being a human, that’s just... a simple fact. I don’t get why anyone could try to change something like that. We’re all born the same way. It’s wrong to force your own negative opinions on others... ❜ Trailing off, she lets out another short laugh.
❛ But! I guess I’m kinda a hypocrite, now that I think about it. Since I’ve been trying to force my opinion on you too. ❜ She sighs. ❛ It’s okay, I get what you mean. I have a bad habit like that, tending to speak and thinking I’m right... ❜ A pause. ❛ Well, I kiiinda think I’m right anyway, so if you like what I’m saying, that’s a good start. ❜ Flicking her sleeves, she leans back against the trunk of a tree, watching his sheepish laugh, attempting to give an explanation to her harmless observation. Huh, perhaps she had been spending too much time around Saizou.
She’s so accustomed to the dark-haired shinobi’s eagerness to complete missions that she hadn’t stopped to think that perhaps every shinobi completed a mission at their own pace, based on necessity or personal reason. Hanzo’s explanation cleared some things up, but she wrinkles her nose in confusion. Thinking of the right words to say so she wouldn’t offend his good will. ❛ Helping with construction? You? ❜ Her amber gaze sweeps over Hanzo’s figure to give it a scrutinizing gaze. ❛ If it’s construction, then we could’ve brought Onii-chan, right? I know you’re strong and all, but I can’t imagine you hoisting giant beams over your shoulder. ❜ Her words held no ill intentions, of course, just pure curiosity. She could never imagine Hattori Hanzo with construction tools, least of all sitting on some roof and hammering nails into wood.
Maybe it’s her own bias, accustomed to seeing shinobi with swift work; not heavy work such as construction. ❛ Er, well, if it’s something you wanna do, I guess I won’t stop you. It’s better not to rush a mission like this anyway. ❜
His query elicits a stifled snort of laughter from the priestess. Bringing a sleeve to cover her mouth, she shakes her head and allows mirth to dance on her features. ❛ Pfft — you make it sound like you’re gonna die from being purified. ❜ Of course, that probably isn’t his true intention and his curiosity might be for another reason, but his reaction is unexpected. ❛ But that’s right, I’ll have to help you with that. It’s a simple matter actually. We’re just cleansing our bodies of the world’s impurities and praying to the gods, out of a sign of good will rather than practicality, with clean water. Besides, doesn’t matter how hard we try, we all have sins inside us, one way or another. However, we believe it’s... good for us to use physical things to cleanse us. It shows our sincerity in worshiping the gods. ❜ Raising an arm, she lightly thumps her chest. ❛ Anything about Shintoism, I’m your priestess. I’m a tough mentor though, word of warning. ❜
Lightening up, though still she held a semblance of wariness around Hanzo? He was doing a rather good job at being less... well, Hanzo. Which was a weird thing to say, but she supposed that he was doing his best, given their particular shared history.
Realizing that her given signal was a little too obvious, she nods. ❛ Okay, I thought of something too. Right now I’m finding it hard to include what you said into conversation except for the birds, but I’m sure I can find a way. ❜ If her tendency to run her mouth wouldn’t help, she wasn’t sure what would. ❛ I can go on levels. ‘The birds are quiet today’; I’ll use that one when I feel like someone suspicious has entered. ❜ Pressing her lips, she mulls over what other levels she could go for. ❛ ‘It sure gets dark fast at this time of year’; if I recognize someone, I’ll say that. Whether it’s Okuni or Date Masamune... and ‘I’m getting hungry’; that’s the highest level, where I feel like I or any of the villagers will be attacked. ❜ She glances at Hanzo. ❛ Are those... good enough? Too little? Too much? ❜
His suggestions continue to make her mind swirl. There was going to be so much going on in so little time; perhaps it was best for her to reduce Hanzo’s responsibilities as much as possible. Isanami shakes her head in disagreement. ❛ Since you wanna work on construction, disguising yourself as a villager would be best. Having a bodyguard with a priestess is a little too suspicious; now that I think back on it, the head priest never had someone accompanying him for the sake of protection when he went to purify places. ❜ She wrinkles her nose then; making Hanzo uncomfortable is probably the best way to go if she wanted to get her petty revenge, but this probably isn’t the time or place for it. She’ll save it for when they’re at home. ❛ You’re probably used to ceilings, but I dunno how long it’d go on for. I’m thinking, maybe you can disguise as my attendant during the ceremony instead. You won’t be able to stay near for long, and you have to wait outside for some part of it, but if it’s other shinobi we’re up against, that’d be so weird if they were in the ceiling too. ❜ And awkward. And funny. She’ll keep that to herself.

Hijirihara voice: “i don’t tell people when my birthday is on purpose. it gets awkward when people celebrate it…” parties aren’t really his scene. he’s only just getting comfortable with holidays and stuff.
❖ ─ ━ ɩɴⅴеႽτɩնατοʀ ❝If you don’t want to tell me-yet, then it’s fine but it would be awkward for me not knowing it and we are friends after all too. Besides if we did celebrate it would be just the two of us though....and that would make two of us then cause I don’t really celebrate mine anymore either.❞ It’s not like she was going to throw a party or anything-she wasn’t the type to do so-, she just wants to do something together with him or at least gives him something to celebrate it.
Stolen Light [ Lunafreya & Ardyn ]
@absortio
This wasn't supposed to be like this! How had things fallen apart so quickly? Lunafreya had expected this situation to be a little chaotic after all awakening the Hydraean could very well be the last thing she did. She was known for being temperamental and Lunafreya had been prepared for that. So it was no surprise that she was soaked to the bone her dress tattered as she attempted to gain control of the situation. She couldn't break now Noctis was counting on her.
What she hadn't expected was Ardyn to jump into the situation. She knew he would probably come for her eventually if she still carried the ring. She just hadn't expected it to be so soon with her only just having formed a covenant with Leviathan.
When she had refused to give him the ring she had expected her death. Ardyn was dangerous after all and she knew it. He gave off that vibe. However, he did something completely unexpected. He had simply shrugged and hoisted her up and took her away. No, this wasn't what she had wanted. She was finally going to get to see Noctis again and now . . . where was he even going to take her?
"Put me down, I can walk by myself."
Although, Lunafreya doubted he would listen he probably expected her to run the second she could and he wasn't exactly wrong. However, she wasn't going to just pick a direction and take off. That would be absolutely foolish on her part.
