βAh, umm, I donβt really know.β Sinta is never too deeply involved in the handling of schedules and planning of events. She just know she came here for a ritual visit, and after this one there will be more visits to other shrines.Β ββItβs just that ibu will be looking for me, she will take me back to the house. Iβm not sure how long iβll be here.β She does feel a little anxious about leaving like that, but itβs a good type of anxious. Her smile widens as Isanami tightens her grip on her hand, as if sheβs being assured that this exciting little adventure is a good idea.
βI like sweet, or spicy.β Now that she mentions food, Sinta does feel a little hungry. Maybe she can sneak out long enough to visit a street food stall, too? The tea is a first stop, of course. Sheβs thirsty and craves for something to soothe her throat β if this tea-shop is the best in the world, then surely it will serve something sweet! How lucky she is to have ran into Isanami, who apparently is a great culinary guide. With how much sheβs looking forward to the drink ( and now food, too ), she nearly misses the last question. Her smile momentarily falls from her features and she gasps, startled by such an assumption.
βOh, no, no, no!!β A boyfriend is out of the question, and a girlfriend? Is that possible? She never heard of a woman getting married to another woman. Did she misunderstand? A sister-like friend she definitely has, but it sounded like Isanami was asking about falling in love with someone, to get married. She fervently shakes her head a few times to assert her denial, it would already be dangerous if she were to walk alone with a boy β there would be rumours!Β βThatβs impossible, itβs not allowed. I speak with the gods, so I will never be a bride. But of course, there are many people I care about.β
Sheβs familiar with this pattern of questions, though; much similar to how people start conversations in her own culture. This particular question, however, is typically not one people ask her.Β ββWhat about you, then, Isanami-san?β
β Oh! In that case, then we better take advantage of the time we have together right now! Iβm not really the biggest fan of taking things too fast, but Iβm also good at being fast! β Left to her own devices, Isanami ought to have been known for disasters regarding food - as in, she empties stores left and right. But for the sake of her new friend, sheβll have to hold back a little, lest Sinta be unable to actually taste anything that Japan had to offer.
β Oh! Ohhh!!! Have you tried sweet and spicy fish? Or or spicy candy? I love those, but Iβm kinda weak when it comes to suuuuuper spicy food, one time I had the whole bowl of spicy konpeito and my stomach like, exploded. It was worth it though! Spicy mochi theyβve been working on too actually, have you heard of mochi? Mhnn, maybe we should visit a sweets store first. Dessert is a meal too! β Her musings are meant to help Sinta, of course, though hopefully the pace of which sheβs talking isnβt too much of a marathon for the other.
β Is there a rule about priestesses in different places being unable to marry? β Isanami tilts her head curiously. Shintoism also has that rule, yet thatβs a rule she had never really learned. Her upbringing consisted of complete freedom, and while Isanami was well-versed in the dances of Shintoism, certain cultural connotations... were kept in the dark. Mostly for the sake of her innocence.Β β Thatβs a kinda... sad rule, being able to love someone must be the best feeling in the world. β Though, her next statement might be a bit hypocritical.Β β I donβt have anyone I wanna marry either, but I think thatβs just cuz I really love too much people! Honestly, everyone... the group that I live with, I want to spend the rest of my life with them! β She didnβt quite know the fine differences between love for romance and love for friends, but that line is blurry when it comes to her.Β β And you, Sia-chan, I bet Iβll grow to love you too, thiiiiiis much! β With their linked hands, Isanami spreads her arms wide, imitating a hug.Β β Oh, but if I really had to pick, food would be my first and number one love. Speaking of which, weβre here! Come come, pick a place to sit, Iβll order the food! Iβm a regular here so I get discounts, hehehe. Donβt be shy, okay? β
