saw you tweet about twewy arc v au so i gotta ask what characters you perceive as who and how you reimagine plot points to accommodate the theme of arc v
oooohh man you can go so many ways with this it’s not even funny
(cut for spoilers for both arc v & twewy)
there’s the obvious one where yuya takes the role of neku, he doesn’t remember anything except that he admires yusho (CAT). in the first week he pairs up with yuzu (shiki). after the first week, yuzu becomes the thing most important to him so she becomes his entry fee for the second week. in the second week, he forms a pact with snarky yuri (joshua), and in the third week he makes a pact with shun (beat) (yes, ruri would take rhyme’s role). you could pretty easily reimagine character motivations, backstories, and plot points to accommodate for twewy’s plot. as for accommodating for arc v’s themes, that’s a bit harder but you could do it, pretty much you’d just have to make sure yuya’s not the same kind of emo that neku is.
another way you can envision this au is using zarc as the main character in neku’s role. this is a bit more interesting because you can easily fit zarc as a recluse that slowly warms up to people. 2 variants with this au would be:1) (the more obvious au) zarc pairs up with ray in the first week (or a ray counterpart, it doesn’t really have to be her exactly) and ofc ray gets him to open up more by the end of the week, and then she becomes his entry fee for the second week, and so on...or the option 2) (the more interesting one, imo) zarc pairs up with yuya in the first week, yuya gets him to open up by the end of that week and becomes his entry fee for the second week (cries), and in week 2 zarc pairs up with ray (*has* to be ray for this au for sure tho, not any of her counterparts). of course, over the course of the week, zarc begins to remember that ray killed him, later on he thinks someone else killed him (idk, probably leo or smth), then he realizes nope it really was ray who killed him so zarc could become her proxy., etc.
but here me out on this last one (i mean i could go on, twewy aus are fun...)
a predatorshipping twewy au: yuri takes neku’s role as the recluse, “anti-social” kid who doesn’t get people and doesn’t make friends. he has no memory, no family or friends. he meets and partners up with serena in the first week (you can even make it so that her backstory is similar to shiki’s: serena actually looks like yuzu to everyone in the UG. when she was alive, she and yuzu were friends but she always envied yuzu because yuzu always had the freedom to do whatever she wanted with her life while serena didn’t have that due to Leo keeping her locked up in Academia her whole life, so serena always kinda wished she could take yuzu’s place in life...). again, serena gets yuri to open up and make friends and ofc she becomes his entry fee for the second week, etc. make up more details from here for this...
these are all just basic ideas for arc v twewy aus. i don’t really have any of them super well fleshed out yet but ohhhhh boy i think they have a lot of potential...
