I find your post about Nazi Germany interesting. I visited the Holocaust museum in Washington DC last year and I remember thinking that if the Nazi's could rise to power in a country as cultured as Germany then it could happen anywhere. Germany is the land of Bach and Beethoven, Schiller and Goethe, and this happened there. It shows the capacity for evil that humans posses. And of course you are right that economic pressures played a huge part. LD
This is so true. And it’s scary and uncomfortable to think that there’s a part in all of us that can cause chaos and destruction but I think that’s why it’s important to think about it and admit that we’re not flawless magical beings. Just think before reacting to anything. Think.
I know sometimes we feel overwhelmed by emotion but, while I do not judge emotions because I think it’s important to truly experience them, I also think that in the case of emotions, what’s true today might not be true tomorrow. And you can destroy someone’s life in a second. It doesn’t matter if tomorrow you’ll feel bad about it or you’ll change your mind if the bad thing’s already done.
