AC Audio are showcasing the S-9 Slimline Studio Condenser Microphone at NAMM which took my interest due to the company being Australian and the specs of the microphone really stood out to me. The S-9 is a small diaphragm gold plated condenser microphone, it has a FET pre-amplifier which guarantees a detailed sound processing and a great a amount of low self-noise. Some of the specs of the Microphone are: - Frequency Response: 38 Hz ~ 18 kHz This frequency range is good in terms that it will not pick up very low thudding sounds or it won't pick up any really high and annoying pitching sounds. - Self noise: 16db A The low self noise results in clear and detailed Audio input without unwanted noise due to audio levels - Polar Pattern: Cardioid The Cardioid pattern for this mic is convenient due to the size and weight of the mic - Dimensions & weight: 129.5 mm high x 22 mm diameter and the weight: approx. 110 grams. This makes the microphone light and compact which is good for transport and great for getting in close with recording instruments.
