After three days, ten hours, and four sets of choreography to learn... Over 90 dancers came out to have these seven judges decide if they had what it takes to be a part of something that can potentially change their lives forever. Whether if they're brand new and never been in a Hype before... we looked through the fear and saw their potential. If they were trying to maintain their spot on the crew... we saw the fire of competition in their faces and knew they still got what it takes to be the face of #Hypersquad. Even after a break, old faces show us that the passion doesn't die quickly but becomes stronger with distance. Thank you and good luck to everyone that auditioned for Rascals, Bandits, and the Academy of Hype this past weekend. What ever the outcome is, just remember that it's not the end of your journey, but the beginning of another. I may not be the best dancer at my studio or on my crew, but you better believe that I have one of the strongest ties to it and I believe that everyone that will be in a Hype, will see a change in their skill as well as in themselves. This 10 day off island experience was definitely something that I needed. Yes it was stressful, Yes we worked hard, Yes this was painful… however, Every experience is a learning on whether you like it or not. Started off NEVER doing any travel arrangements for myself till 2007 then being second in command for 32 people. Planning and logistics are very important and patience is definitely a requirement.

Thank you to everyone that made this trip possible. The studio who stands beside me no matter what happens. The parents that fight for everything and anything to allow their child to get the most of out of dance. To the support of friends and coworkers that understand the type of love and passion we all have for our craft.

Going up with 32 to the Bay Area, and striking that stage with a force stronger than anyone could imagine… As I always preach, we all know that quality if definitely better than quantity. From the concept all the way down to the choreo and costumes, this piece was one of the most fun that I’ve done in my honest opinion.

Dwindling down to a mere 12 that braved the fronts of Disneyland… Thank you all for making it a pretty fun side trip. Yes, there were bumps… CHOKE BUMPS… but hopefully it didn’t stress you guys out as much as it did me :)

Let’s keep the flow going and let’s make everything we do going forward nothing but positive vibes and teamwork because hey… like we said before… costumes were put together in 3 days, piece was done in about 2 months, and funds were situated in about 3 months… Imagine if we had 6 months ;)

I hope everyone’s summer was amazing and here’s to another season of dance at Hypersquad Dance Company.
