After three days, ten hours, and four sets of choreography to learn... Over 90 dancers came out to have these seven judges decide if they had what it takes to be a part of something that can potentially change their lives forever. Whether if they're brand new and never been in a Hype before... we looked through the fear and saw their potential. If they were trying to maintain their spot on the crew... we saw the fire of competition in their faces and knew they still got what it takes to be the face of #Hypersquad. Even after a break, old faces show us that the passion doesn't die quickly but becomes stronger with distance. Thank you and good luck to everyone that auditioned for Rascals, Bandits, and the Academy of Hype this past weekend. What ever the outcome is, just remember that it's not the end of your journey, but the beginning of another. I may not be the best dancer at my studio or on my crew, but you better believe that I have one of the strongest ties to it and I believe that everyone that will be in a Hype, will see a change in their skill as well as in themselves. Been at this studio for 13 years and it's been one huge rollercoaster ride... but think about it. Had it been a kiddy ride... would you stay in line to ride it again? Didn't think so. We've gone through loop-di loops, upside down, inside out cork screws, multiple zero-G drops and time after time, it's that rush that keeps me coming back for more. Every audition is like waiting in line for that ride. Every competition is a loop. Every drama is a cork screw. Every time we lose Crew members is a drop. Every moment in between are the concerts and bondings days and all the good times! Guess what? I LOVE EVERY SECOND OF THE RIDE! Auditions are in two hours at Hypersquad. $10 Audition fee. Ever since technology lended a helping hand to me, I tried to use it as an aide for the classes that I teach. I have uploadrd them onto youtube and have allowed only my dancers to view them and not share them. Over the years I have collected countless hours of classes and rehearsals with the intent of allowing my students to look at it and learn from it. Some are great, others are just for fun, then there are the ones that I would actually consider releasing to the public. Here's one of them. This piece is from 2012. It was choreographed by me and my better half, Cierra Cici Tagura. This pushed our boundaries not only to our limits, but to our dancers as well.
