“alright, finny, ready to join your first college club?”

he sounds like a mother - of course.

doting has been a habit - a good or bad one depends on who you’re asking - ever since he’s met jihoon years (years and years) ago. their entire friend group treats jihoon like a baby, jeonghan more so than everyone else. thankfully, jihoon more than willingly obliges which, really, makes one wonder if the freshman is actually aware of the entire situation. admittedly, jeonghan hates children but jihoon fulfills his need to be a parent - or some similar bullshit he’s spouted on more than one occasion when anyone dares ask. regardless, now that jihoon’s in university, jeonghan takes it upon himself to, at least, introduce the misguided lost child boy to the basics: starting with university clubs.

with an arm around the shorter’s shoulder, jeonghan guides him toward the line of booths - colorful, handled by students showing exaggerated enthusiasm (some fake, some genuine; jeonghan wants to ask how in terms of the latter). “so, anything catch your eye, so far? i mean hyeri’s in debate, but do you really wanna go there? i sure as hell don’t.”

nayeon didn’t like to consider herself a huge party goer, but she had to admit she was someone who tended to get a little over her head when a good function was in place, especially when any kind of alcohol besides wine was involved. while she was normally good at keeping herself sober and only lightly buzzed with light liquors and wines, when the heavy stuff came out, she was a goner ( it didn’t help that none of the friends she was out with that night were helping her keep level-headed ).

so, there she was, another red cup in hand as the music only seemed to be getting louder and louder with each sip she took.

it was late into the night, the party having started hours ago in some random house ( she was sure it was a fraternity house? she wasn’t exactly sure, but she recognized a few faces and had it not been for one of her younger friends inviting her, she probably wouldn’t have gone in the first place ). it surprised her, really, seeing how long the party had already been raging without campus police coming to shut it dow, but that was far from what she cared about.

right now, she only cared about who the next bottle would land on.

these kinds of games were never her thing, but she couldn’t resist when her friends pulled her down towards the circle to play a classic— spin the bottle. she had yet to spin or kiss anyone, but she’d been dangerously close a few times. she only hoped whoever she had to kiss when the time came was cute.

maybe the party gods were looking out for her, nayeon’s first spin landing on a boy too adorable for a scene like this. she wouldn’t judge, though, not when looks could be very deceiving.

she’s sober enough to understand what’s going on, crawling slightly to lean over towards him, her eyes warm and inviting. if she’s gotta do this, she at least wants him to know she’s not a scary person. “just so we’re not really strangers, my name’s nayeon. nice to meet you,” she speaks loudly over the music and hears a few chuckles that follow from the rest of the circle.

she waits till she sees some sort of approval before taking the front of his shirt gently and pulling him towards her, her lips meeting his with purpose. it’s not very long, maybe only a second or two, but it’s enough to feel something, and she pulls away with a satisfied smile. “hope that wasn’t too bad.”

she sits back down with a laugh, and the game moves on.

↺ hyeri likes to play favorites. 

when one grows up as a haughty genius who never liked stooping down to match any average person’s intellectual and social level, the very few number of friends one earns in their lifetime can easily equate to gold. after all, geniuses are incredibly difficult to understand, and the young heiress to the lee’s cosmetic corporation is a prime example of that unfortunate conundrum. 

but if weight in gold is the measure to be used in terms of counting value, then finnian tips the scale a million times over, her dear cousin easily one of the most important people in hyeri’s very privileged life. it took years before the obnoxiously precocious little girl had anyone else that she could calla friend, and it could be said that he is the only one she would proudly admit being heavily attached to. finnian is the younger brother she never had but always wished for, her sweet baby to whom she would gladly give the world to if he would simply ask. 

so it comes as no surprise that her features immediately brighten into that of glee once she sees her dear cousin walking towards her path, especially after a long day of preparing for the oncoming university fair. without a second thought, she waves off every single one of her freshmen slaves entourage, her high-heels clicking on the smooth pavement as she sprints towards the adorable boy, her lithe arms outstreched and ready for a tight hug. 

“finny!” she greets, elongating the last syllable as she traps the smaller male in an almost-suffocating embrace. “how’s your day? do you want to come with noona for some cake?”
