The Digital Animation and Interactive Media (DAIM) MFA at The Ohio State University, Department of Design is accepting applications for Fall 2017. Next Deadline: January 7, 2017.
About DAIM The Digital Animation and Interactive Media program leading to the Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) in Design is formulated for students intending to work as designers in the digital animation and interactive industries and in colleges and universities teaching animation and interaction related courses. Students are supported in the exploration of their creative research topics via 8,000 sq. ft. of sophisticated and collaborative facilities at the Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD). Here students can engage in the creation of digital animation, motion capture, immersive virtual environments, performance animation, game art, responsive and interactive media and installation. These investigations form new ground for the design and creation of meaningful content by the animation designer.
Students in this MFA track complete 60 credit hours of study over a period of six semesters. This includes a core of seminar and studio courses and independent thesis-related studies and open electives in the themes of studio/lab, history/theory, and collaborative/interdisciplinary activity. Students work closely with a three-person thesis committee to develop their individualized study track and thesis topics.
Location Columbus is the 15th largest city in the U.S. and the largest and fastest-growing city in Ohio, with a vibrant blend of arts and culture; inspired culinary, fashion, music and entertainment scenes; exciting collegiate and professional sports; and an open, entrepreneurial spirit.
