As a Midwesterner and who lives around the area that Wally West does in Canon I would like to propose the thing that I have found all Midwesterns do:
Whenever they hear someone speak in a Southern accent, whether it's a mild one or a DEEP South accent, we adapt it. We start speaking in a Southern drawl that is around the same cadence as the person we are speaking to. When I talk to people who have a deep, DEEP Southern drawl, I begin to talk with the same cadence that they do. And I've noticed that so do most of the people in my area.
So, I would like to propose that when Wally West and the Team run into the Terror Twins, he just starts talking with a Southern Drawl.
Or, when he talks to the Hawks (because I just found out they're in Louisiana??) the three of them just bring out the Southern Drawls in each other.
Or, when he meets Jaime Reyes (I know Jaime doesn't have a stereotypical Southern accent and that people don't always adapt the accents around them, but let me be, damnit.) and they talk, they just start talking in Southern drawls
And the Team is always just like "W O T"
I dunno
I like the idea
And I NEVER see anyone with my kinda accent?? And Midwestern accents on TV are SO misleading. We do not talk like that. Most of us (at least in my area) do NOT just go "Oh! You betcha!" literally never once heard someone say that one hundred percent seriously. -_-
(Would be fucking hilarious if Clark said a common Midwestern phrase and Wally just goes (ﾉﾟ0ﾟ)ﾉ~)
