We made mistakes we can't erase, but Christ never got tired of forgiving us. Even when we doubted Him, He stayed the same. When we fall Christ never changed with us. When we chose the darker road, the Lord never let us go. Romans 5:8 says, 'But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.' So what am I grateful for? It's not just because I have a full-time job, have great health, a lot of materialistic things at home, or that I still have my family and friends around me.
I'm mainly grateful because the Lord Jesus Christ hasn't given up on me.
We make promises with the Lord day in and out, and in a blink of an eye we break them. When we run away from the Lord, He never stops following us. Psalm 34:18 says loud and clear, 'The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.' When we were faithless, He remained faithful to us. The days and nights we couldn't love ourselves, He loved us when we couldn't.
Brothers and sisters, grace isn't a second chance. It's an unlimited amount of chances. The Lord's love for us has no expiration date. It doesn't run empty. If you feel unworthy, remember this: Christ still calls you His. Did you fail again? Well, the Lord's mercy hasn't run out. To those who lost everything, the Lord is still our great provider. If you're drowning in guilt, remember the cross covered it all. And if you think it's too late for you, I need to you know that Jesus Christ doesn't give up on people like you and I.
So yes, I have a heap load of things to be grateful for. But mainly of the fact that Jesus Christ hasn't given up on me.
