I never expect anything. I just feel things in my gut and I do them. If something sounds exciting and interesting, I do it—and then I worry about it later. Doing new things takes a lot of energy and strength. It’s very tiring to make things happen, to learn how to master a skill, to push fears aside. Most people would rather just go with the flow, it’s much easier. But it’s not very interesting.

Being in her sixties, Lyn Slater, who has until recently been a professor at Fordham University, is not exactly a typical haute couture model, but that’s part of her style icon appeal.

She was once asked about the notion of dressing for one's age and her response was clear "We use language to control people's behaviour. This phrase is a way of putting older women in their place. I'm certain that if you feel comfortable in your own clothes, it's completely irrelevant how old you are."

Iris Apfel says herself she wants to be the world’s oldest teenager, and at 99 she seems to have done it. She’s known for her instagram account, and she became a model at the age of 97, in 2019. So if you have modeling dreams, you now know it isn’t too late!
