Steter Week: Day 7 - Saturday
GENRE: Free Day
Soundtrack vibes: miscommunication, casual sex, assholes in love
Stiles and Peter agreed from the beginning that whatever they were doing was casual.
Seven months later, Peter has a key, a side of the bed, clothes in Stiles’s laundry, and access to their shared grocery list.
None of that means they’re dating.
Probably.
Peter set his coffee aside and pulled Stiles upright.
“What are you doing?”
“Fixing you.”
“That is an enormous project. You’ll need permits.”
Peter turned him, pushed him forward, and began working his thumbs into the muscles beside Stiles’s spine.
Stiles sagged immediately.
None of this meant anything.
Casual sex could include massages. It was practically responsible. Preventative maintenance.
They did not date.
They had sex, watched movies, ordered food, and occasionally attended events together because Peter hated nearly everyone and Stiles hated attending things alone. They did not hold hands, except in crowds when Peter claimed Stiles wandered. They did not celebrate anniversaries because they did not have one. They did not exchange romantic gifts.
Peter pressed a knuckle beneath Stiles’s shoulder blade.
“Fuck.”
“Yes, that’s usually how this ends.”

the engagement by bibliosexual | 1.5K
“Stiles,” Derek growls the next morning, “why did Wanda just call me to congratulate me on my engagement to you?”
“Uh, because we are engaged?” Stiles tries. “We’re having a spring wedding with two flavors of cake, or did you forget? By the way, you still need to buy me a ring.”

“So?” Scott says.
“So?” Stiles sputters, kicking his shoes into the corner and locking the front door behind him. He’d whipped out his phone the second he’d pulled up to the house, and miracle among miracles, Scott actually answered. Of course, he’s not so pleased about that now. “My dad thinks Derek and I are dating, Scott. Did you miss that part?”
The asshole actually has the audacity to laugh. As if this is somehow hilarious to him. Worst best friend ever. “No, I didn’t.”
“This is not funny, Scott.”
“Yeah, it actually kind of is, though.”

Derek nods. “‘K,” he says. “Night.” And as he passes Stiles he leans in and presses a soft kiss to the corner of his mouth.
Stiles goes perfectly still, mouth falling open, eyes following Derek’s progress up the stairs. He sees the moment when Derek realizes what he’s done because he pauses, his back to Stiles, hand clenching the rail in a white knuckle grip, posture totally rigid.
“Night,” Stiles says, voice coming out a little hoarse.

First Chapter of my JayVik Accidental Dating/Accidental Proposal AU is up!
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the
Organization for Transformative Works
“What do you mean? We’ve been courting for the past month...?” Jayce felt the pit drop out of his stomach as Vitkor looked at him in shock.
Viktor’s eyes widened, his voice growing alarmed. “I am fairly certain we have not!”
Accidental dating/accidental proposal AU! In which Viktor and Jayce have inadvertently been reading from two very different mental schema of 'how to relationship' without realizing it, and the chaos and sweetness that ensues when it all comes to a head.
Many thanks to @coppercrow for egging me on and being the best beta/enabler/muse/encouragement buddy a writer could ask for :D
Set between Episodes 3 and 4 of S1, but I fully admit to playing fast and loose with some canon aspects here - bits of Viktor’s pre-Arcane backstory and some of the worldbuilding are lifted from League of Legends/Runeterra albeit in a very patchwork way. Title from "Bowerbird" by molly ofgeography
Fic is 90% written, chapter 2 will go up later this week!

Sammy is working furiously; both in anger and speed. At least his bonus is coming up, at least the deadline is almost finished.
Until Joey comes around and screws it all up.

Sammy was working furiously- in both ways. His pen splattered in his flurried and raging motions, trying to complete the music sheet in time for Joey’s fucked up deadlines. At least this week he should get his bonus, an extra day off. A part of him wondered how worth it that really was, instead of continuing his work at a slower pace thanks to the extra day. He really, really hoped that Joey would not come in to ruin his day.
He was not sure what he would do if he did.
A knock on the door.
Speak of the fucking devil.
“Hey, Sammy,” Joey remarked, less cheerful than falsely apologetic. “How’s your work coming along, hm? Mind if I take a look to see if you’re on schedule?”
“Sure,” Sammy replied through grit teeth, not bothering to return the greeting. The man could not even read music, as far as Sammy could tell. He did not hand him the paper, instead letting him look over his shoulders. Joey hummed, then tutted. Sammy felt his irritation spike incredibly with that one simple sound. “What is it now.”
“Oh, nothing,” Joey lied through his teeth, teeth that were not being used by Joey- the demon delighting in the way Sammy stiffened at the words, nostrils flaring. “It just seems that you’re… a little behind deadline, don’t you think?”
“No,” Sammy answered the rhetorical question slowly, acid dripping into his words. “I don’t think so. I’m more than on time; I’m ahead.”
“I don’t think so,” Acon simpered, much to Joey’s increasing distress at the words. He was not feeling, locked away in a little mind box, but he could hear Acon’s words. He could also sense Sammy’s tones and inflections, but nothing more. “After all, we do need two songs for this episode, remember?”
Sammy fell silent, eyes growing wide, glancing at the memo posted above his desk. How did he, and Jack for that matter, miss that?! It was like the ink had shifted on the page. Sammy felt thirst scratch at the back of his throat, and he stood to fill a cup from the pipe in his office that he tapped from. Joey, rather, Acon, pretended to read over the music once more.
“Oh, Sammy,” he shook his head. “I’m afraid we’ll just have to push off your bonus day off to make up for this to meet the deadline.”
Sammy choked on the bitter draught of black, the shake that had just died down in his hands coming back with a vengeance. He stared at the side of Joey’s smug, soft face, and thought about how nice it would look with a black eye.
He set down his drink and reared his hand back unthinkingly.
Joey caught his fists, and then grabbed both of his wrists. Sammy struggled to wrench free, but failed against the smaller man, possibly due to the shaking of rage, exhaustion, too much caffeine and an underlying current unfulfilled need, thinking of the black liquid he abandoned on his desk, of Jack’s gentle touch and voice. Lord, he should have gone to Jack instead of blowing up like this.
Joey walked him backwards, smiling as he pushed him with strength beyond expectation. His back hit something cold, and he could hear the rushing whispers in the ink.
Sammy’s wrists were gripped tightly, pushed back and broadening his chest as the demon in Joey puppeteered the man to hold the taller like so. Sammy, pinned to the pipe, breathed heavily, angrily, handsome lips curled back into a snarl.
“Now, now, Sammy,” Acon soothed in Joey’s voice. He could almost feel Joey banging on his brain, trying to reclaim his body. “There’s no need to explode over a little deadline, a little withheld bonus. There’s no need to assume you won’t get it soon.”
“Fuck you,” Sammy hissed. Joey laughed softly, pressing against him more. Sammy hated how good he looked, with that infuriating smirk and half lidded eyes, dark like night. He tried to wrench himself free, failing once again. “I want my fucking bonus, Drew. I worked hard for it.”
“Maybe you didn’t work hard enough,” Joey murmured, leaning closer. Sammy silently pleaded that he would not realize how absolutely wired he had gotten Sammy, but that train of thought was defenserated as soon as Joey pressed him to the pipe. He blinked, eyes widening a touch out of their mooned gaze, and he paused. Sammy was just as frozen, breathing deep without meaning to from the positioning of his body. Joey experimentally rolled his form against his once more, and an incredulous grin spread over his face, an odd light in his eyes. “Or, perhaps, you worked too hard.”
Sammy stared, watching as Joey flinched, as if he had gotten a sudden headache. Joey’s grip and press relaxed momentarily, and that was when he made his move.
Joey was back in his own brain for point five seconds before feeling Sammy’s hands slip out of his loose hold, coming to his chest and shoving. The very second he came to, his head hit the floor of Sammy’s office, and in that befuddled, shocked daze, Sammy pinned him down. It was hardly a fair fight with how discombobulated Joey was, but Sammy was not one for fighting fair at the moment, not at all.
He, with that untamed fury, covered Joey’s mouth with his to keep him from making a sound- and with good timing, too, as Joey let out a cry just then. Or maybe it was because of Sammy’s bruising kiss. Sammy took advantage of Joey’s muffled noise to dive into his mouth, tasting of bergamot and the residue of moss, earthy and grounding. He pressed his hips to Joey’s angrily, rubbing his stupid taunt back at him. Joey’s nearly frantic words that Sammy swallowed quickly grew into gasps and moans, stuttering motions to hesitantly meet with Sammy’s own rhythmic pulse. It could not be comfortable for Joey on the hard floor, but it would be impossible to tell with the way he was reacting so wonderfully to Sammy’s motions and draws on his air.
“I want my day off, and I want my deadlines moved,” Sammy growled in Joey’s ear. A moan tore from him as he nodded frenetically, trying and failing to match Sammy’s rigorous flow. “Don’t ever fucking mess with my bonuses again, Joey. I might not be so hard on you next time.”
“I might prefer the softer,” Joey whined, then gasped as Sammy maneuvered him to have better access to his body. It had been… a long time. Too long, one might say. He could hardly remember the last time he had done something of the sort even privately, let alone with another person. It was overwhelming, and he was unthinkingly shifting desperately against Sammy. Handsome Sammy; Sammy with that velvet voice and thin hands and, apparently; excellent tongue for more than singing. Joey was feeling as though he was losing his mind, if he had not already lost it as soon as Acon made a home inside there. The two of them seemed to be working towards the same goal with opposite approaches, and the utter abrasion was starting to overwhelm Joey even more. “Sammy, Sammy, please-”
“Joey,” Sammy replied in a pant, one hand carefully holding Joey’s waist in place, his jacket hiked up from the angle and motion. He kissed the smaller man again, nipping his lips hard enough to bruise and kissing him so deep that Joey saw stars. He could feel Acon chuckling at him, and could not bring himself to decide whether he wanted to shake the demon or thank him. Sammy’s other hand was framing Joey’s face, stroking his cheek and running to the back of his head to pull him closer. Sammy let his arm feel along Joey’s waist, reaching his arm around and bringing him closer. “You’re such an asshole, Joey. You drive me up the fucking wall.”
“I’m- I’m sorry,” Joey gasped, shoulders hurting from the way they supported most of his weight. His legs had long been lifted from the floor. “I’ll try to be better, but sometimes- sometimes I’m not myself.”
He half hoped that Sammy understood the double meaning, but judging by the way Sammy snorted and ground his hips again, he had to say that it was a five to ninety five ratio - and not in his favor.
Joey felt the tension within him steadily climbing, and Sammy did as well, his motions jerking slightly as his body spasmed. It pulled a desperate moan out of Joey, and Sammy kissed him again, slowing down his actions to regain at least some of his shattered composure. Joey felt so good beneath him, on both a physical and mental standpoint, needing him in so many ways and knowing it.
“Sammy, are you in- OH.” Jack’s slightly stuffed voice snapped them apart, both of them red faced and breathless. Jack stared down at his boyfriend and boss, his own cheeks coloring. “Um. I’ll go? I think?”
“No, no,” Sammy stood, eliciting another whine from Joey as he pulled away. He looked down at the man, at his handiwork. He looked utterly ravished, eyes dilated and lips red and swollen, trying to tug down his jacket to preserve some modicum of dignity. “I was just… insuring my bonus. There had been a little mistake that would have messed with it, right, Joey?”
“Ah- mm- ngh- yes, I-” Joey sucked in a shuddering breath. Jack did not mean to stare at the downed studio head, but he found himself doing so regardless. He did look rather cute and sweet, all flustered like that on the floor. “I made an error, it’s been rectified.”
“That’s right,” Sammy purred, leaning to pull Joey up. It took all of Joey’s willpower not to press himself to Sammy’s side, swallowing harshly. “Now, if you excuse me, I need to take care of a little something that came up with my boyfriend. You don’t mind, do you, Joey?”
“Not at all,” Joey murmured, steadying himself against Sammy’s desk, curling in slightly. “I’m- I’m going to calm down in here? Or, Jack, can I go to your space?”
“You can stay here, Joey,” Sammy assured him, stepping in stride with his boyfriend. Joey gratefully sank into Sammy’s chair, still curled up. “Now, did you need anything else?”
“No,” Joey failed to keep his voice from cracking. “Just… keep this between us, okay?”
“Absolutely,” Sammy agreed, trying not to shudder at the thought of anyone more than Jack finding out about this incident. “I’ll leave you to it. Jack and I might take off from work, if the situation calls for it.”
“Sounds good,” Joey replied through a forced smile that felt more like a grimace. “I’m sorry again, about the whole misunderstanding.”
“Just… don’t do it again.”
Joey silently watched as the two of them left, his hands gripping the edge of his jacket and pulling it down his legs towards his knees. The humiliation was raw and jarring, though its method had been surprising and titillating.
His stomach hurt. His shoulders hurt. His dignity hurt more than both of them combined. He could sense Acon hovering about, amused.
“I… hate… you,” Joey forced as he tried to even his breathing. Acon laughed in the back of his mind, no doubt shifting through the scene once more. “So much.”
“You loved it,” Acon retorted smugly, and Joey hated to concede the point, falling silent. As long as Acon kept dredging up the thoughts and memories, there was no way for him to calm. Acon was quiet for a moment, sifting through the feelings. Casually, he continued. “You better get that taken care of, Joey. Ye might even feel a little less shite if you do.”
“No thanks,” Joey exhaled slowly, eyes shut tightly to keep out all thoughts and sensations. “I am sitting here. And calming down.”
