Steter Week 2026: Crossroads
Steter Week: Day 4 - Wednesday
GENRE: R&B
Soundtrack vibes: crossroad demons, missed connections
Nineteen years ago, Stiles sold his soul to a crossroads demon. Three days before Peter could collect, Stiles vanished. When he finally allows Peter to find him four years later, Stiles invokes the Right of Claim, giving Peter until dawn to take what he is owed. Stiles has a plan. It starts with terrible coffee, a few personal questions, and the hope that Peter might be more interested in knowing him than owning him.
The first time Peter Hale met Stiles Stilinski, Stiles was seventeen, furious, and standing barefoot in the middle of a crossroads at midnight.
He had buried the box correctly: bone, photograph, graveyard dirt, and the last twenty dollars from his wallet folded beneath it. Most people cried when Peter appeared.
Stiles merely looked him over. “You are not what I expected.”
“You expected horns?” Peter asked, one brow lifting.
“Honestly?” Stiles narrowed his eyes. “Yes.”
Fifteen years later, three days before the contract came due, Stiles disappeared.
A soul under contract was never truly hidden from the demon who held it. Peter could feel every one of his, distant sometimes but always present, each tethered to him by a hook buried beneath the breastbone.
Stiles’s simply went silent.
Four years later, at eleven forty-three on a Thursday night, Stiles existed again.
His soul struck Peter’s senses with such sudden clarity that he went still in the middle of a crowded room.
There you are.
