I just finished watching Shadow and Bone and I'm obsessed. What did you think about it? Do you think there is a way to put Hayffie inside the Grishaverse? (Will we ever stop trying to put Hayffie in everything we watch and read? I think not 😂). Anyway, I hope you're having a nice day/night 💕
LMAO HOW DO YOU KNOW I WAS THINKING ABOUT THAAAAAAAT. I don’t know though I haven’t thought of a way to make it work. I was thinking maybe Haymitch could be Fierdan and Effie Grisha but that doesn’t really sit right with me. Effie would be a great tailor though...
Also what did I think about Shadow and Bone... I think they really nailed the Six of Crows parts although I’m a bit confused as to how we’re going to bring them back to their canon now but i guess that’s out of the window. Anyway I have no complains at all about that part aside from the mystery brother Inej suddenly has. I was less fan of the S&B part. I loved the costumes, sets and the way they pictured grisha magic - all the hands twists and such was chef kiss - but I feel like they changed Alina’s core character as well as Mal to make their ship more appealing to the audience (because let’s face it in the books, Alina isn’t that bad ass and Mal isn’t that nice or sick love puppy to her, I feel they make both of them fit better with the expected formulatic “MC and her love interest” YA Tv shows ) and they downplayed the whole Darkling/Alina thing a bit. Basically I think maybe the whole training part went too fast. At some point Alina says ‘its been months” and I was like “really? It feels like on screen it’s been 3 weeks...” so yeah that part convinced me less. I also don’t see why we had to have a random love interest for Alexander that will probably serve as a decoy for the darkling/alina although it does illustrate why he wants immortal women i guess. All in all I liked it though.
