I feel like a lot of the latinx people in the US are more strange about the differences of latinx cultures because they’ve never experienced others. I grew up and live in the US (born in my family’s home country) but we always lived near/were friends with latinx people of other countries so for me, not knowing stuff is so normal? 99% of them are from sudamérica so its completely different from everything I’m used to, being from the caribbean lol
yeah, exactly! many people think that there’s one big community of latines and we all share stuff. and like, there’s so many differences between central america, the caribbean, sudamerica!! most of the time the “latine stuff” that everyone sees here are from central america + latinxs from USA. they kind of reject any idea of latinx that is not what they always thought...
