New pinned post :
Unfortunately due to a tweet accusing me of improperly crediting having more views/reach than this account ever has had, I am making this post.
In these cases, regardless of how flippantly the OP made the accusation, it automatically makes you guilty (in the eyes of the public, at least) . I know how twitter works.
^ me realising if I keep this account open I'll just receive 'KYS' messages until I shut-down anyway because 13k people saw your tweet my posts barely break 100 likes most of the time, more people have seen your accusation than will ever read any of my posts.
Regardless of this being 'set' now, I will still leave why I believed I had credited adequately (except from the Esme hair, which I forgot - that is on me) here, In-case any-one wishes to know.
Every conversion was sorted into a specific collection which indicated the source.
Every conversion (except esme, once again - that was my fault) had the source mesh written out in the body of the post- I even had it as one of the first things (BEFORE THE DOWNLOAD BUTTON) so everyone could see it.
I thought SN was self-explanatory. I do not know of another game with those initials. People use initials to refer to games all the time (RDR2, RE9, FF, TS4, TS3,
There are well-maintained suit indexes for SN that say what regional name these assets are called, and I thought it was easier to write this out so someone could check a suit index and know what exact mesh it was. I thought this was adequate enough, and the formatting would additionally prevent my conversions coming up when someone was trying to look up information regarding the specific 'suits' I converted from- personally, because I hate conversions to other games coming up when I am trying to google reference images. Also SN naming convention is very long-winded. I wanted to keep my file names short.
I had additionally added another clarification in my pinned patreon post. If you want to argue about 'optimisation' and my conversions being ugly because I attempted to make them more maxis-match rather than leaving them alpha - which would have been much easier to do, and if I had wanted to profit from these, then I would have just did what people who paywall conversions do - you know,
My TOU should have also made this clear.
^ The reason the TOU is so strict is BECAUSE it's a conversion, and in-general, with porting and converting between games (which has been incredibly common for years) it is acceptable so long as you indicate your sources (I felt I had done this) and do not profit from it.
My conduct. - I have been very clear when people interact with me that these are conversions that I do for fun, and that it is neither ethical nor moral for me to take credit for the entire work- and that if I was selling them, it would be illegal. A primary school choir singing a song (for parents who attend for free) but without a licence is very different than a for-profit band who is selling seats for their entire concert without a licence, and advertising it using the original band's likenesses in order to deceive concert-goers. I thought I was being nothing-but-honest, but if I was not explicit enough, I am sorry- but idk how to be MORE explicit. I don't know.
As for the esme hair post, where I didn't properly format it - I have previously 'released' hairs informally when I haven't finished all the variants- always on simfileshare (a completely free hosting service). When I forgot to add the source mesh on other occasions (to my tumblr posts, they're the first thing in my FREE ALWAYS FREE patreon posts) I have re-blogged with the information, because I care about crediting, I'm just a human being who forgets things.
They included 'ewe hair' in their twitter post, which is funny, since that both is fully credited and links to Nico's outfit conversion which has the full western name of this particular set. I do not think this was ambiguous- at-all.
As for the person who made the post. [censoring them out because I fear this person will say 'AAAAA you're harassing me' - bro what do you think making a post with 13k views on twitter saying something untrue is, is it taking a walk in a park?]
When someone receives a comment like that, which is already aggressive and is less of a question and more of an accusation [i.e this literally means 'all of your hairs are stolen from shining nikki' - this isn't actually a question.] When people speak aggressively like this, and expect politeness from you, it's tiring.
I replied to you in good faith and I wished you a happy easter. After 12 hours (unfortunately I didn't think to take a screenshot of me blocking you because I'm not some evil fucking mastermind, and I was tired and thought you had enough time to read), I felt miserable, and realised that with your comment, you were probably just looking to find something wrong with me, so I blocked you and deleted your comment. Perhaps it was the wrong thing to do, since it sent you on a further tirade against me, but I do not think it was unreasonable. You making an alt account (or sending your friend, I don't care which) to comment on my post again saying the same thing, and continuing to tweet about me making fun of me, even after others told you that I do credit- that is unreasonable.
I think that is a miserable way to celebrate easter on your part.
When someone comes to you and seems to be determined to see something one way, what is the use explaining?
Have the life you deserve, dear. I have no ill will towards you, I am just tired. I was already so tired before this, but I'm fucking exhausted now. A hobby of mine I make no profit from is not worth this.
