“I’m sorry I let you down.” (From Whitebeard. Here have some angst.)
"I'm sorry I let you down" those words. The words that scarred the young man. "w-what do you mean? You haven't let me down! Y-You..You are the best thing that happened to me pops!" Ace said, his shoulders shaking, trying to hold his head high.
But even if, he knew the inevitable. That one day, they will cross paths once more. Maybe not in this lifetime but in another.
As Ace saw Whitebeard go down, his eyes widened and a piercing scream echoed.
"POPS!"
"Don't say that, you are probably the most, if not the best thing that happened to me. You didn't feel me, you can never fail me" the Second commander said, his eyes trickled with tears as he saw his mentor, his "father" figure in front of him.
"You can never fail me" Ace said, soon sobbing. "D-Dont say that" he wailed. "You taught me everything, I became the best because of you"
Memories and nostalgia played in his mind. The first time they interacted, the first time Ace fought White beard, losing painfully but gaining a family in the end.
How time has passed between him and his mentor, the man who Ace called a father, a dad.
"Pops, I'm sorry I didn't listen to you, I'm sorry I went off on my own" Ace spoke.
"Please, Please don't die...not yet"
