as an asexual woman, i’m positively STOKED to see how fitzroy’s asexuality will manifest in future episodes of graduation. griffin seems to have really put in a lot of thought and research to make fitzroy’s identity an accurate representation of ace folx.
the big thing for me is that griff recognizes that being ace is a spectrum, and at its core is the lack of sexual attraction. it’s not always based in sex-repulsion or low libido (which many ace people are like that, for sure!); some of us, including me, call ourselves ace simply because we don’t feel that kind of attraction. and that doesn’t mean we don’t experience romantic attractions (i’m still holdin out for fitzrain myself)! being aspec is a very broad and unique thing and can mean different things for each person.
getting this right is a fine line to walk, but the boys are always so careful and genuine in their representation. i know the mcelroys will do an incredible job of representing us in the ace community and i can’t wait to see it!!!!!!!!!
