hello! AceCon 2013 will be held TODAY, from 4pm - 8pm EST, on Google Hangouts. it is set up to be long for people to hop in and out as they become available. it has mobile/computer options, so you should be able to get on via any device. also, it'll be available on Youtube later if you like.

YO you probably didn't notice but today is the one-year anniversary of ASEXUAL FACT OF THE DAY! That means our plans for AceCon 2013 have to be put into real gear.
While we discussed doing a meetup in February (today, in fact), this seems increasingly unlikely as we don't have a space to hold a lot of people and it's still freezing cold out (winter weather advisory, anyone?) and so we couldn't meet outside, either. We'll probably have a TinyChat on the internet on Friday (tomorrow) or Saturday, times to be determined (but it would probably be eveningish EST). A bigger (physical) meetup will probably happen in the Summertime because I have an excellent relationship with our city's parks.
Later today/tomorrow Eventually (but a soon type of eventually) maybe someone will write up a list of moderated topics to talk about. Or we will wing it. Something might happen.

just wondering if there was any chance of making acecon a yearly/habitual thing? because i dont have my drivers license yet and wouldnt want to make my parents drive me but next year i would be able to drive there probably (i live in minnesota). if not, i'd love to do an online chat thing like people were suggesting :)
YEAH definitely. I think AceCon will be yearly as long as Asexual Fact of the Day is active, which should be a long time. Also, if it becomes yearly I would prefer to be Not In January, so we can meet/hang outside. And eventually we could probably host it at one of our houses, and there could be a cake buffet, and everyone could bring cake…
I have a lot of dreams for AceCon, but for AceCon 2013 we should probably keep our dreams small.
To the few anons who said they live in Grand Rapids: I LIVE THERE TOO. WE SHOULD MEET UP AND STUFF. (or could you please at least message me? I'll probably need a ride to Acecon if/when it happens...)
