I uh..don’t have much news for today. Development on Gaiden’s going well. Still hoping for a late December release.
What should I talk about? I know! I’ll talk about Classes.
One of the main staples in RPGs like Acelite is the Class/Job system. RPG Maker has a built in class system that I used to make the various characters have unique abilities, but it wasn’t really a good system. Everyone had a unique class, the names were meaningless, their weren’t any changes to anyones class throughout the game. I want to do better.
In Gaiden’s story mode multiple classes will be used throughout the story, and in Tower mode you will be able to chose your class. I know, such groundbreaking ideas.
Anyway, their are 8 core classes. I plan to put a few unique classes in Gaiden and give advanced forms to the core classes in future games, but for now I’ll be sticking with these 8 classes. Each class has the same base stat total and four unique skills, some of which return from Acelite
Knight-Wields Swords
Base Stats: 35 Atk, 20 Mag, 35 Def, 20 Res, 20 Spd, 20 Luk
Skills: Slice-Powerful attack that inflicts bleed
Boost-Raises attack
Disarm-Lowers enemy offensive stats
Shred-A powerful attack with high mana cost and power variance
Brawler-Wields Axes
Base Stats: 55 Atk, 15 Mag, 15 Def, 20 Res, 30 Spd, 15 Luk
Smash-A powerful but slightly inaccurate attack
Fury-Raises users attack but inflicts confusion
Wind Up-Boosts the power of the next attack
Swing-A powerful attack that requires recharging
Lancer-Wields Lances
Base Stats: 25 Atk, 20 Mag, 50 Def, 25 Res, 15 Spd, 15 Luk
Impale-Inflicts bleed
Armor Up-Boosts defensive stats
Protect-Makes the user take hits for weak allies
Block-Makes the user invincible for one turn
Archer-Wields Bows
Base Stats: 25 Atk, 15 Mag, 20 Def, 20 Res, 30 Spd, 40 Luk
Quick Draw-Hits faster than other attacks
Poison Arrow-Inflicts poison
Hallucinogenic Arrow-Inflicts confusion
Thief-Wields Knives
Base Stats: 25 Atk, 15 Mag, 15 Def, 15 Res, 60 Spd, 20 Luk
Steal-Boosts the amount of gold gotten after battle
Mug-Boosts the amount of items gotten after battle
Backstab-A powerful attack that hits slower than other attacks
Quick Strike-Does damage based on speed
Spellcaster-Wields Tomes
Base Stats: 15 Atk, 50 Mag, 20 Def, 20 Res, 30 Spd, 15 Luk
Fireball/Ice Blast/Thunder-Basic Fire/Ice/Lightning magic
Rockslide/Gust/Water Pulse-Basic Earth/Wind/Water magic
Flare/Blizzard/Storm-Fire/Ice/Lightning magic that hits all enemies
Earthquake/Tornado/Tsunami-Earth/Wind/Water magic that hits all enemies
Cleric-Wields Staves
Base Stats: 15 Atk, 40 Mag, 25 Def, 25 Res, 25 Spd, 20 Luk
Heal-Heals one ally
Cure-Removes status ailments
Treat-Heals all allies
Holy-A powerful light magic attack
Druid-Wields Jewels
Base Stats: 15 Atk, 25 Mag, 35 Def, 45 Res, 15 Spd, 15 Luk
Blackout-Blinds the enemy
Shadow Pulse-Dark magic that hits one enemy
Shadow Bolt-Dark magic that hits all enemies
Purge-A powerful dark magic spell that kills the user
