In personal training safety comes first, not your goals or results or how many kg you can lift or how many reps you can do. That’s why I have to build your workout to ensure that you’re safe at all times. It should be 80% doable, 20% challenging. Yes you heard me. If it’s 100% challenging and you think like you’re going to die at the very beginning and it doesn’t get better after 5 min (the time needed for the oxygen to process) it means this mountain is still too high for you. Can you climb Everest and die somewhere half way because you’ve overestimated your capabilities? Easy peasy. Well, let me tell you personal training isn’t as dramatic as climbing the highest mountain and yet it’s essential to know your capabilities and limitations. Let me give you an example, - if your abdominal muscles are weak your lower back will take all the load, and if you continue heavy lifting suffering from the lower back pain and shivering in your knee joints, you will eventually bring more damage to yourself than benefit. Safety first, remember.
