The new tablet made it here before the weekend!
Canada Post did an awesome job in getting it from the fulfillment centre to my local post office in under 24 hours, so the new tablet was waiting for pickup when my Dad did his usual early-afternoon trip down to check the mail. She’s charging now, and in a little while I can turn her on and start setup (yes, she - I don’t know why, especially when almost all my other electronics are a he).
One thing Acer got right that Kobo sure as hell didn’t - the charger for the tablet is one of those ones where the cable is detachable and doubles as a data cable. It’s little things like that which make a huge difference between fun new toy and swearing in irritation a lot.
This tablet is a slimmer model than my old Kobo, but that also means its noticeably lighter even before allowing for any technological changes that might have affected weight over the last few years. I don’t mind loosing a little screen space;
And in further good news, I also received notification that the tablet case I ordered shipped today as well. Not being fulfilled by Amazon, so no tracking on it, but judging by the vendor’s support phone number area code, it’s only coming from Quebec City so I wouldn’t be surprised to see it some time next week.
SO looking forward to having my ereader software back.
(And then I got so involved in setting up my new toy that I forgot to hit post on this, HAH!)
