My beloved partner got me into Acerbys and I have successfully built everyone to my desired specifications!
Here's a group photo of everyone:
Individually we have:
My Type-A, customized with pieces from my Type-D (including eyes, shoulder pads, elbow protection, and joint rings), the white hands from one of my Spinatia, and the magic weapons staff. She's a terrible little magical girl, and insists she's team leader.
My Type-D, the one that got me into Acerbys, modified to better fit my preferred color scheme (red/black/yellow), so she's stolen my A's eyes, and my E's visor and sword, and was also customized with a 30MS flight kit. I love her a lot, she feels more like a tomboy who's just happy to be here to me.
My Type-E, honestly the most kitbashed out of all of them: she's got the leftover joint rings from my partner's Type-B, the booster legs, the 30MS stealth armor option parts, spooky tails/tentacles from the multi-wing set, and my Type-D's blue sword. She turned out fantastic IMO, and I've been calling her Kazia. Easily the most veteran and dangerous of the group.
Next, the first of my Spinatia, my Assassin. She's largely stock, but with the addition of the multi-wing, and my Type-A's hands. Because she spent most of her time being built with her hands in a cute, excited pose, I've decided she is a sweetie despite her specification, and has a habit of using her wings as extra legs.
And finally, my Spinatia Reaper! She is... entirely stock except for the extra scythe at the bottom of her staff because she's been VERY much my taste from the start. The first one I bought, but the last to arrive. She's also extremely matter-of-fact and on mission. Definitely gets along with Kazia the best.
I have no plans to get more for now, but we shall see!! I'm very proud of how they all turned out, especially because I've never done any sort of model kits before!!
Hope you like them!!
i think i've found a new joy in Acerby~
Went to the mall of america for a Tamagotchi event and stopped by a hobby shop while nearby. Got some great looking guys!
EXM-H15Eμ-MD0122 Acerby Type-E0122 "Battle Maid" Mu Unit
Another Acerby has hit the collection! This one is directly inspired by @acerby's Acerlin build, using the same base 30 Minutes Sisters maid outfit option parts set, alongside the Option Parts Set 22 Wing Option 2 and one of the 30MS hair options.
The base Acerby Type-E is essentially identical to the Acerby Type-D, with the same set of parts and colour blocking, with the only difference being the darker more monotone purple scheme, and the inclusion of a dark purple faceplate intead of the usual white. There's not really anything new to explore with the Type-E as compared to the Type-D, apart from it being the first Acerby kit I've build using the Tamiya liquid panel liner rather than gundam markers. Aside from a panel line, all the included parts also got a matte topcoat, aside from the clear parts.
The majority of this kit uses the base Type-D build, however, I was able to modify the upper arms to connect to the maid costume arms, keeping the poofy sleeve sillhouette. The upper torso and skirt are from the maid costume, as is the small headdress. The lower part of the maid costume torso lacks the amount of articulation included in the Acerby, so despite it being visibly thinner I opted to use it instead. To help maintain the "maid" sillhouette I used the smaller Acerby A-C feet rather than the new feet parts included in the D and E kits.
The most modification on this kit happened with the hair. The hair option is designed to attach to the 30 Minutes Sister's face parts, and while the Acerby has a very similar faceplate, the connections are just different enough that you can't directly add the hair to it. I used the back part of the helmet, and then with only a little cutting and gluing was able to force the fringe of the hair parts to attach, with the maid headdress on top. The fringe just about conceals any of the gaps created by omitting the parts designed for the kit.
The wings really help to elevate this build, helping evoke the idea of a valkyrie. Unlike the white option part wings (used in my Build Strike Galaxy Wing), these ones incorporate some really nice trans-purple parts that match well with the trans-purple parts used for the Acerby's eyes and beam dagger. While the trans-purple eye and beam effect part unfortunately aren't UV fluorescent (which would help them to stand out against the dark purple of the faceplate), the trans-purple parts on the wings bizzarely fluoresce bright blue under UV light. The energy katana blade is also UV fluorescent and is incredibly bright even under normal lighting.
I painted up the sensor of the Acerby rifle in a UV fluorescent red which matches well with the energy katana blade for some great photos.
The maid outfit option set also includes a little broom, because even a battle maid needs to clean up.
Overall this build was really simple and fun to put together, and it poses incredibly well.
I'm looking forward to putting together my final Acerby custom soon, the Acerby Type-A. Until then, keep a look out for some really cool builds as I try to clear my backlog!
