I'm blaming this build on peer pressure. I kept seeing these fantastic Acerby builds here on Tumblr and had to build one of my own. So, this week I've got the Acerby Type-A.

I haven't build a lot of 30 Minutes Missions kits. There was that big Provedel kit last year, but that's it. So this was still kind of a novel experience for me.

The instructions for this kit were a little unique... While it's still got the normal fold-out booklet fully detailing every step of the build, it also had this quick one-sheet version too. That's basically the entire build right there.

It's not immediately obvious but there's several shades of pink palstic here. There's the super-pale stuff, obviously... But then there's also several darker shades of pink. It really looks pretty good once the thing is built. There's some subtleties there that I don't normally expect from HG-ish kits.

I dunno... It's maybe not accurate to call this an "HG-ish" kit? I'm not sure what to compare it to. I guess 30MM is its own thing. Maybe making comparisons at all isn't fair. There's some weird bits of complexity here that make it feel more like a human figure than a robot. Like the torso, for example, has a surprising bit of flex and articulation.

I think this Acerby, specifically, lives in kind of a weird place. It's very clearly a hybrid of the 30MM and 30MS lines. More mecha than musume, and I genuinely appreciated that. The one real girlpla kit I built felt vaguely creepy the whole time I was building it.

So here's what we get... The Acerby herself; a couple open hands, a couple holding hands, and one angled holding right hand; a gun with a barrel extension; a knife; some multipurpose armor parts; and a whole pile of extra bits.

A lot of the extra bits - like the bicep and thigh connectors - remind me a lot of the 30MS line.

It's maybe worth noting that there weren't any stickers in this kit at all. I painted that little bit of blue on the gun. It just looked too plain without anything there.

It's neat how that visor on the head is adjustable. With it fully-down the kit looks genuinely robotic. I mean, clearly a very feminine robot... But a robot nontheless. With it fully-up, however, the kit looks more like some kind of character. An alien or human or something. I guess it's just the eyes making that happen?

The kit is pretty nicely posable. There's some good rotation in both the thighs and biceps. It winds up feeling pretty expressive without too much effort.

Overall, it's a pretty solid kit.

It's a very quick build. The whole thing only took me a couple hours to put together - and that's including the time to panel-line. I like it a lot more than the Figure-Rise Standard kit I built a couple years back... But I'm still not sold on all of the extra sockets for customization everywhere. All the holes look a little weird.

Still... I find myself wanting to try a straight-up 30MS kit now. See if that'd be as unsettling as the Figure-Rise Standard was. Or if I'd enjoy it more.

And, honestly, I kind of want to build another Acerby variant. This thing was fun.

My beloved partner got me into Acerbys and I have successfully built everyone to my desired specifications!

Individually we have:

My Type-A, customized with pieces from my Type-D (including eyes, shoulder pads, elbow protection, and joint rings), the white hands from one of my Spinatia, and the magic weapons staff. She's a terrible little magical girl, and insists she's team leader.

My Type-D, the one that got me into Acerbys, modified to better fit my preferred color scheme (red/black/yellow), so she's stolen my A's eyes, and my E's visor and sword, and was also customized with a 30MS flight kit. I love her a lot, she feels more like a tomboy who's just happy to be here to me.

My Type-E, honestly the most kitbashed out of all of them: she's got the leftover joint rings from my partner's Type-B, the booster legs, the 30MS stealth armor option parts, spooky tails/tentacles from the multi-wing set, and my Type-D's blue sword. She turned out fantastic IMO, and I've been calling her Kazia. Easily the most veteran and dangerous of the group.

Next, the first of my Spinatia, my Assassin. She's largely stock, but with the addition of the multi-wing, and my Type-A's hands. Because she spent most of her time being built with her hands in a cute, excited pose, I've decided she is a sweetie despite her specification, and has a habit of using her wings as extra legs.

And finally, my Spinatia Reaper! She is... entirely stock except for the extra scythe at the bottom of her staff because she's been VERY much my taste from the start. The first one I bought, but the last to arrive. She's also extremely matter-of-fact and on mission. Definitely gets along with Kazia the best.

I have no plans to get more for now, but we shall see!! I'm very proud of how they all turned out, especially because I've never done any sort of model kits before!!
