tumblr is always (rightfully) criticizing when men are praised for doing nothing but treat women like humans and be respectful but as soon as agent chad michael murray finally acknowledges that peggy is one of his co-workers just like all of the male agents and invites her to join them for a drink after work i see a bunch of people glorifying the moment like he's suddenly about to join the feminist movement

it's baffling how it took some people here so little to act like it's suddenly acceptable to ship peggy with the single most sexist guy out of the entire show who up until the end of episode 5 had done nothing but treat her like shit

People saying the AC/Marvel fandom will "start a movement" to defend Thompson, "just like they did for Ward" makes me laugh. It proves they are missing the fundamental and obvious difference between characters who have sad back stories, in order to try and continue to drag people with opposing faves through the mud. A back story does not excuse one's behaviour and it does not guarantee redemption. Thompson uses his backstory as an excuse. Ward makes reference to what his backstory did to him, but OWNS his own part in how he let that influence his choices and actions. That difference is obvious in the script and storytelling of both shows. It's plain as night and day. So many Ward fans, from what I've seen here and on Twitter, damn and dislike Thompson anyway, so I don't know where people are getting this idea from, other than their tired "they like attractive white guys" argument, that has already been disproved time and time again.

@ people complaining about fans who are talking issues in agent carter such as the lack of poc representation:

no tv show is perfect

no one is saying agent carter is utter trash

talking about aspects that aren't so good doesn't mean we'll stop praising the things that are actually good

saying that we shouldn't complain about this one thing because this other entirely unrelated thing is really good makes no sense at all
