Fun fact: Nintendo recently requested a new trademark for Astral Chain, along with some other interesting games (Mario Galaxy, Earthbound), per WIPO.

This is a regular thing that happens, and it can sometimes hint at future announcements, but it can also not. A trademark for ASTRAL CHAIN was also refiled in June 2025, but before that, the last one was in 2022.

So, maybe it will result in something? One can hope :)

Can you explain what’s going on in the article you reblogged?

so from what I’ve understood of the article RM are now in even hotter waters due to news that has recently surfaced about not paying tacon players as well as fraud with how they have dealt with the players’ right to social security (announcing publicly that this was covered when in fact they did not have it). On top of this, 14 players who attempted to report and speak up about this were threatened. They were also stabbed in the back by the AFE (the players’ union) who actually tried to defend RM and the RFEF (Spanish football federation) so in that way be stronger against the ACFF (the women’s football clubs federation). This basically means that those that were supposed to be standing up for the players were actually just acting in their own interests in games of internal politics to one up the ACFF no caring about the rights of these players at all.

Now, on December 10, Tacón has sent all their current and former players a letter in an attempt to cover all this shit up. In it they practically confirm the validity of all the complaints that had been filed by the players about not being paid and not having social security, and on top of that they had the audacity to try and cover it up to reduce the fine that could fall on their heads because of this. The article then goes into detail about how all the clauses in the letter they have been ‘invited’ have trick wordings, the one that I found most insane is that in clause two apparently they word it so that in reality it would be the players themselves who would have to pay for their social security. The last clause neatly ties it up by forcing them into strict confidentiality about the document in question.

Thankfully, all the players involved have been advised not to sign it as doing so would actually mean collaborating with and forming part of the fraud. Unless the coaxing and pressure put on the players still at tacón works, hopefully no one will end up signing the agreement
