This is the last in the series from the Southeast, the last two images will be from South Florida and I’ll explain why I differentiated the two regions. This is Acharia stimulea or the Saddleback caterpillar. These and other Limacodidae (Slug Moths) are abundant in the fall season. This particular individual was huge and near pupation. The habitat photo was the only one in this series I had to totally fudge. Limacodidae are found nearly everywhere, but for the life of me, I couldn’t make a good habitat shot out of it!
