oh shit i generally don't like/reblog those posts on purpose as a mentioned author because it feels arrogant? or like, self-serving? does it achieve the exact opposite effect though? anyway that's my mindset so maybe your authors follow my logic
i see what you’re saying! but as someone who recs fic it’s really nice for an author to give a post a like because then i know that i successfully spread the love to them, it doesn’t feel self-serving to me!

maybe they didn't see it, esp if they adjust their settings to only track mutuals' likes/reblogs some popular tumblrs have a flood of notifs in their activity, idek i'm a nobody and without intending to be rude missed the last 2 times sb tagged me so
i actually didn’t know you could set your notes page like that. also definitely possible that people saw it and then just got distracted by any of 100 things and forgot to actually see what the post was, i know i’ve done that

usually if you don't reblog you at least like, so either the mention didn't work, or their blog is popular and your mention is way down in their activity page
i understand that it would be easy for a popular blogger to miss it esp given what mascheranoi says above. but i know some of the blogs are small, and ONE of the mentions worked at least so it would be weird for the others to be broken...? right? fuck knows, tumblr is a mess
