They get married over fourth of July weekend. Bittle wanted to get married exactly a year after Jack had proposed, but Jack had enough designs on winning the Stanley Cup again to nix both that and the anniversary of their televised kiss.
Bittle suggests the fourth of July in Madison and waggles his eyebrows in a way that waggles right past sexy and into silly. Jack kisses him on the forehead and agrees. It’s the third of July, actually, with how the days shake out.
Bittle gives him a tight smile when he sees Kent’s name on the guest list. "Are you sure, honey?"
"I need him to be there," Jack says. Bittle frowns but doesn’t argue. He gets Kent’s address from Alicia’s Christmas card list, and his mother’s, just to be safe. He realizes, embarrassed, that he doesn’t know if Kent lives in Vegas in the off season.
Two weeks after the invitations go out he unblocks Kent’s number and types out I need you to be there. Deletes it.
We’d love to have you :). Stupid.

It started — where else? — on Twitter.
First, the Aces official account re-posted a fan video of that new theater in Vegas — the one with the video screens that everyone was either pissed off about, amused by, or both — which showed a single white spade tracking slowly across it's surface with the date of the Aces first playoff game below. In retaliation, the Schooners had taken the video and added a quickly photo shopped boat crashing into it, turning the whole thing into a meme overnight. The comparatively subdued logo swapped out for children's drawings, images of the Aces' horrifying bug-eyed mascot, and of course, player photos. Then, someone in the Aces organization talked to someone at the Sphere and a contest was born: Your Idea Here for the rest of their playoff run.
All of which lead to here and now; Jack standing at a window, freshly flown in for the first game of the 2023 Stanley Cup Finals, looking at Kent Parson's smirking face twenty feet high and shining straight into his hotel room.

It’s a fest dedicated to Jack “Zimms” Zimmerman/Kent “Parse” Parson, aka Pimms or Jackparse from the webcomic Check, Please! We welcome all types of fanworks–fanfics, fanart, fanvids, playlists, webweaves–as long as they fit our theme in one way or another.

General guidelines for all fanworks:
Must include Pimms/Jackparse as the main relationship in your fanwork
Must observe the theme: literally, canonically, metaphorically, give it your own spin!
You are allowed to tick more than one role (write a fic, do a mix, shoot for the moon!), and submit more than one entry for the fest
The fest will have 2 mandatory check-ins for all participants, so we know how we can help you in any way we can.
Posting Date Claims: we will have one fanwork reveal per day from November 22, so you’ll be allowed to claim any unclaimed date after you accomplish your 2nd Check-in. This comes with the promise on your end to post as scheduled.

Rules for Writers
Fic posted must have a minimum of 1000 words, could be canon, canon-divergent or a totally whole AU. However you want to interpret the theme is up to you
We’re not limiting content, but kindly tag your fics accordingly
Once ready for posting, please submit your work under our ao3 collection
Rules for Fanartists, Vidders, Mixers, and Podficcers
Fanartists: You can do any fanart of your choice, including traditional, digital or mixed art, comics, manips, photo or gif sets, moodboards, webweaves, tarot or playing cards? anything under the desert sun, really. We will not require a minimum number of art pieces per entry, but each entry should be able to tell a story that is consistent with our theme.
Vidders: Your fanvid should be at least one minute in length, with the final vid streamable through any social media site (tumblr, twitter etc.) or on ao3 as part of our challenge collection.
Mixers: Your mix should include at least 10 songs and cover art, plus a link for streaming or download.
Podficcers: Your podfic could be of an original work or an existing work that fits our theme. If you choose the latter, we will try to help you reach the original author for consent, or with finding a fic to adapt, as much as we can.

So I just wanted to go over the canon stats we have about Kent for the people who are unfamiliar with hockey, coming from someone who is slightly familiar with hockey.
“Probably tied for first when it comes to best living hockey player right now—probably tied.”
This statement implies that not only is Kent one of the best living hockey players right now but that he might be the best.
While it’s a matter of some debate (especially depending on your team preference), it’s generally agreed that the best living hockey player right now and specifically of that time (2014-2015) is/was Sidney Crosby. This means that in the CP universe, Kent is at least on par with Crosby and possibly better than him.
Another part of Kent’s canon background I want to remark on is his point streak. A 31-game point streak puts him squarely in between the lower two of Gretzky’s top three point streaks, meaning Kent has the fourth highest point streak in the history of the sport. It also means he has the highest point streak of the modern era—neither Kane nor Crosby’s point streak come even close to matching his.
Finally, I want to point out that canon says that Kent isn’t just leading the League in points but also assists. That means he’s not just scoring goals himself, but that he’s also coordinating on the ice with teammates and helping them score, too. He’s not some glory hound who only looks out for himself.
To summarize? Kenny P is a damn good player, and a damn good captain, too.
I think it’s of note that Patrick Kane is an American whose 26-game point streak notably broke Crosby’s in 2015, whereafter he was awarded the Ted Lindsey, Art Ross and Hart--and became the first American do so. What’s missing in this piece of analysis is that Ngozi based Kent, a Buffalo-born American, on Patrick Kane, that’s just facts i don’t make em up ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
