In a few days, the last episode of Nottpan's story will air. Do you have any predictions? Will it be a happy or a sad ending? Even though how much happy or sad is ambiguous. I believe it will be a mix of both or completely sad. A true happy ending isn't on the table, for me. I can't imagine both of Nott and Pan or Pun continue be actors at tv channels, be in a relationship and keep it hidden. Someone is stalking them or Pan specifically, which I believe Atichon is involved in it. I am certain they have evidence of their relationship. For a happy ending, a sacrifice or at least a compromise has to be made. Most likely, one of the two has to give up their career. If it's Nott, I don't think he will have a problem. (But his manager is a variable. There is a lot of his story and background which we don't know. I hope in the next of episode we get to see more of Nott's world.) And if it's Pan, maybe he will be fine at first, or pretend to be fine, but at some point there will be tension in the relationship which I believe will lead to a break up down the road. Because although they both love each other, the way they see the world is different and what they need and want from it are vastly different.
Also, let's be honest, I need some of the couples to end sad in order to hope for torufirst (achimost I think are their names in the series) happy ending. The last story screams sad ending which I ignore on purpose. I would love for all of the couples to have the happy ending that they want, but sadly is unrealistic. Still, I would love to see them happy and smiling at the end, because they deserve it. Especially Pan. And I think what he needs is to disconnect from the world and spend some alone time, away from other people, other adults, and try to love himself.
I was going to talk about this in my post about episode 4 actually but let me talk about it here instead.
Well, considering everything that we've been given in this 4 episodes so far, I am leaning more towards an ambiguous ending. Mainly because, as you said, there isn't exactly space for a true happy ending, not with the amount of bullshit that has happened until now. Pun has a lot of trauma to process, a lot of learning and unlearning to do, and until he actually gives himself time to do that, he can't truly be happy. As a trauma holder myself, I know that trauma processing takes a lot of time to happen, it can literally take your whole life actually and we should try the healing path slowly but that healing path only works when you actually stay away from the things that hurt you in the first place and for Pun that would be the acting industry as a whole.
Pun knows that his acting career is finished or, at least, won't ever be the same as has been up to that point, because his image is being smeared left and right and, honestly, I doubt that he would want to go back to acting anyway (there is a possibility that he might but is kinda small). His relationship with Nott is very entangled with the acting industry and for them to truly have their happy ending, as you said, compromises need to be made. Nott is willing to give up on his contract with the TTV station, something that shows that he can also be willing to just stop being a actor (Pun said that Nott never wanted to be an actor, contrary to him, so the possibility of that happening is really high) if that means a chance to be with Pun (don't forget that he only signed the contract because he thought that the other actor was Pun). However, seeing someone throw away their chances in something that is your particular dream could potentially be the beginning of a bigger problem down the road.
(About Atichon being involved in what is happening to Pun, I bet that he really is and that Dew knows about it, just because of the way he reacted with the news. I've always thought of their dynamic in a way that Atichon is the one that actually puts himself at the front of things and Dew only steps in when necessary, preferring to just stay quiet and watch things happen in front of him).
Now, being completely honest, I don't think I want a happy ending for NottPun and by "happy ending" here I mean them together as a couple. There is a lot that they need to sort out to actually begin to think about being in a relationship, even with them having feeling for each other, the moment is just not right for something like that to happen and Pun can have Nott on his side but not as a lover, after all they are also friends and that can work for a while, at least until Pun feel like he can let go of the things that could get in the way of them being together and give Nott, and himself, a chance.
I think that a most realistic ending (and also a bit satisfying one) would be an ambiguous ending but hinting that there is a possibility that one day Nott and Pun can actually have a relationship as lovers and actually be happy like that. This is not me jinxing them, because I do want them to be together, but I cannot ignore that a relationship now would be a disaster to both of them.
A side note, about the AchiMost story arc, I'm torn because I also want them to be together but a part of me also wants for the three of them to end up together, so I just pretend that "Wife" does not exist and will continue to do so until I'm forced to deal with them.
