We are textured. We are layered. We are human. I’ve been having incredible conversations with my guy friends lately, about our experiences in psychotherapy. Our conversations are deeper than ever before. We are discussing the various parts of ourselves, the things we are working to unlearn, and the direction we aim to grow in. It’s been a hopeful and inspiring throughline, in an otherwise often bleak world. My favourite part of this development is the feeling of true connection with my friends. Breaking down the outward facing facade, and being honest with each other, and more foundationally, being honest with ourselves. The best step to finding the perfect sherwani for your wedding, is to feel comfortable in your own skin. The only route there is through the hardest, most vulnerable, most terrifying work - getting to deeply know yourself. The view from the other side is well worth the effort. We are textured. I asked Neha about “nature”. She said “I think nature is a vibration that connects everything”. It seems like most humans were connected to this idea for a long time. They took care of the land and the water and the air as though it was part of themselves. They were connected. As we walk towards long lasting relationships and marriage, we are speaking of a similar connectedness. A union, where you take care of one another, as though they are a part of you.
